  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

change spark plug

I've tried to remove the spark plug from the head with the valve cover on. However I could not get a socket down to the spark plug as the gasket in the middle stopped the socket. Do I need to remove the valve cover to change the spark plug? Also the wife bought an irridium plug, different electrode, instead of the stock plug. I would rather have the stock plug, which is not irridium. Will there be a difference? The bike is a 2012 TE310. Thanks.

If you're using a thin walled box type spanner then it will push past the rocker gasket with a bit of force. Iridium plug will be fine, I've never noticed any gain in performance as some say but they've always worked well.

yes on the 310 you will need the tube type plug spanner not the socket its too thick - i always run the iridium plugs they self clean and have been very reliable not convinced abuot any extra performance.
thx

Check my thread on pg.2 Te 250 Spark plug service. I to had a tube type break (KTM Tool). I did a search and found the Cruz Tool and it works just fine $ 10

Found a chinese knockoff at the local bike shop. Bought and used it. Quick and easy. Thanks for the help****************************************!

The Tusk one at www.rockymountainatvmc.com is $10 and works well with the 310
