• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Changes At Cafe Husky

I do note my virus checker states 'the certificates are not valid' or something similar on my laptop.
It could be my virus scanner blocking the site on my Andriod phone.

I stopped riding about 5 years ago, however I do come back and check in on (lurk) the site once every 6 months or so.

Coffee - thank you!

Best of luck Dirtdame and Woodschick!!

Thanks for the suggestion, Zomby woof. Neither of us know how to make those changes but we'll take it under advisement and see if we can't figure out how to make it more user-friendly. I know Dean wanted it that way for a reason, I just don't know what it was.

On other sites it caused hard feelings i.e. I know so-in-so dealership that would sell it cheaper than what you want for yours

or a lot of "to the top" stuff - new post sends the thread / ad to the top of that section / classifieds..

stuff like that.

Suggestion... Take a look at the 'Georgiaoffroad.com' site when you have time. It's not as active as it was a few years back but still pretty good. The 'Classified' section works great and gets a lot of activity. Just an FYI - John

Good call F150.Best wishes to all for our festive season and safe riding into 2019.
In closing lets try to keep the site active, informative and friendly as has always been the case under Dean.
My new year resolution will be to post a proper ride report with pictures. I feel shamed that DD, Woodsie and our good mate in the Phillipines are the only real active contributors in this part of CH.
CIAO to all .
