    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Check the Fuel Pump

HI,

first sorry for my bad english I´m from germany

I have a problem with my TE310`09, my dealer and I thinks the Fuel Pump (the pump wer is in the tank) don`t work the hole time so we think.

Do you know can I check the pump if it works normaly?

The Problem from the TE310 is that i have sometimes not the full power. It´s hard to describe it in englisch

Fuel pumps usually work or they don't work ... They might stop and start a couple times but they usually just quit totally and the bike will not run in this case...

There have been reports of kinked or loose fuel lines inside the tank on the pump and sometimes the EFI needs a re-mapping to get the power right on the bike ...

Does your bike stop and will not start sometimes? Does it sputter when running? Bogging at low speeds? Has your EFI mapping been updated?

I'm sure someone here with an EFI machine can help with this issue ;)
 
You can check the fuel pump pressure with a automotive style fuel pressure gauge. That is if you have the correct fitting. I think it should be around 44 psi of pressure. That is what it is on a 2010 TXC/TE 250 anyhow. This will not tell you if the problem only occurs randomly. If you have the correct gauge you can compare it to another '09 TE 310. The service manual does not give these specifics. It says that you can bench test it and do not run it for my than 3 seconds dry. Also check all of your wires at your fuel pump to make sure they are not loose. Also I would completely drain fuel tank and add just a little bit of two stroke oil.
 
You can also get water in the fuel and it will seem like you're running out of gas. Plenty of gas in the tank yet the engine is sputtering at half throttle. This happened to me last week for a brief moment.

Although you could pull the unit and do the zip-ty fix....that alone may not be the problem.
