you got coconuts over there??
yes
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

ive found that serious "sexy time" can make most women susceptible to all sorts of suggestions and ideas. remember .. happy wife..happy life....
put in a couple of good efforts b4 suggesting new project or she will twig the buttering up process...I don't condone using butter either![]()
Thanks Picklito. I need more low end after riding it in the woods. Any experience with changing pipes?
I fitted a '82 WR cylinder to my 250XC, made a big difference. Before on a long steep climb the power would just die off. Now even at low revs it still pulls. Don't get me wrong, it's not an XR600, but it has made the bike much more ridable in tight going. I've also fitted a slightly thinner base gasket to lower the exhaust port and raise the compression slightly, every little helps!I'd like to start looking for an 82 250WR cylinder. If you have some photos of what to look for please post. This is an older thread and most of the photo links no longer work.
Restoring two more bikes: 82 and 83 250XC's. Would like to run one with the WR cylinder.
Sorry I didn't take any pics before I fitted it. The internal porting is different to the XC if you look at them together. I hope you manage to find one.82 250WR
Thanks Mogly!
Can anyone confirm that's an 82 WR?
