• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

CR vs Wr 1982 250

Thanks for posting that. I have loved that article for decades, but I can’t get to the pics either. I’d love to see them, thank you.

Thanks Crashaholic for the link! I had no idea of where I was supposed to be looking for those base holes. Mine definitely doesn’t have those.

I’m not a subscriber to CW either but for some reason can see all the photos and links. Here are clips of the photos of interest.

Don't need to subscribe, click the link, move mouse over article and click, when ask you to sign in, in the upper right of the shaded area click the X and it goes back to the article and has left and right arrows to use to go through the article. That's how it works for me. Hope that makes sense.

That is the WR cylinder. Like I was saying above the WR cylinder does not have the addition intake ports at the cylinder base. The 83 WR cylinder is the same as the 82 WR cylinder.

I'm learning this, too, so please correct me if I'm wrong. It must be the two holes I've shown with the arrow.
Until I have this in my hands, I'm not sure what the flow path is with a base gasket in place.

I am on the lookout to buy one, even a junk one for temporary planning.

I can see a shoulder at the bottom perimeter of those two transfer holes. That may be what the base gasket sits against. I would guess that the cases would have similar square openings to accommodate these ports. Good idea for increasing fuel-air mix volume to the combustion chamber.
