    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Does anyone know or have a suggestion where I can find the specifications such as length, stroke etc. for the original girling gas shocks that came on the 1976 CR250?:banghead:
 
The "travel" should be listed in the owners manual. Length might be listed in the brochure or I could dig a pair out of storage and measure them. They do have 110 lb/in springs.

I do not have a copy of the owners manual but neither the service manual nor the brochure lists the length.
What kind of condition are the ones that you can dig out?

Ray,
The gas girling shocks for a 1976 250CR are 325mm or 12.795 inches. I dug them out today along with the shocks off my 1975 250CR which are Betors (I think) as they are not stock but they are a little longer. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Here are the pictures. First picture is the stock Girlings of my 76 250CR. which are 325mm. Second picture are Betors (I think) that came on my 75 250CR. which are 370mm. They were already on the bike when my brother bought this from a local racer back in 77, then I got it from my brother in 78 when he got a YZ 400.

Any shock that will give you 9" of travel...LOL! Just kidding, I run a '77 with 9" travel as that is the max ahrma will allow - also run 77 390 front forks which allow 9"~... perfect for my class.
