• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

CRF450X - thoughts ???

250x for the tight ST when it's 1st - 3rd gear. Nothing better!

450TE for 2nd - 7th.... (I wish) gear. Great desert bike and does EVERYTHING well

XR650 for DS stuff, wide open desert, nothing too technical when a lot of miles are the order of the day...

This dude knows what he is talking about. He rode the hell out of that Honda 250. Good looking bike in the tight nasty stuff. I still say the YZ 250 smoker is just as good. But in the tight stuff smaller is better. Thats how I feel.

Can't wait to test my 09 TE 510 in this stuff. I didn't buy this bike for the nasty stuff but gotta try it. It wil be my dez bike longer distance 120 mile loop bike. My Desert machine.

Now I am thinking about finding an older TC450 instead. I would really like a YZ450f with e start, and the TC450 is probably going to be as close as one can get to that...

Of course, the ones in my price range will probably be 2004's, and I will need you people to help me keep it running.

From what I've been seeing, you should not have a problem finding an 06+ in the 3000 ball park. Just yesterday, I was talking to BMP Bill and he has a very nice 05 TE250 with the original tires for 27. He has resonable shipping rates too.
Have you looked at previous Ebay sales prices?

Thanks, but I am looking for a 450. The 250f's I can master, and I don't want to be the one in charge. :D

Another great bike to consider in 3k range...04-06 ktm 525. I sold my 06 for 3200 for my new wr 300. Am kicking myself now because it would have been an awesome ds bike. Its indestructable, not horribly bad on st, very much the lazy mans bike with torque like u wouldnt believe. That is if you can find one....

i know a few cats that have them and yer right they are kinda hard to find at times as they tend to hang onto them, they work and last.
