    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Curious who has the most miles so far!

Reinstalled the booster plug for summer riding, at a cost of some performance. Did the pod mod, another performance hit!... No more power wheelies :(But all good tho:)
Here in OZ, it's hard to find a high octane ethanol blend. With low grade ethanol fuel the terra runs like a hairy goat, occasionally back firing into the air box. So its best left for the tin tops.

I suggest use 98 when ever you can get, actually less expensive & better for the motor (buying energy not volume)
 
Just turned over 30,000 miles last week. Running eruption mod that has not been negated by ecu. Been through 3 sets of rear brake pads, 3 chains and sprocket sets, 3rd set of tires, 2 clutch cables. No problems other than those routine maintenance ones.
 
3 sets of brake pads and chains with sprockets? I am at 18k miles and just thought about first set of rear brake pads with rotors. Are you changing the rotors when you change the pads? Also did you replace the cush rubber? Do you clean and reoil the chain every 300-500 miles? Trying to figure out why your bike eats chains, sprockets, and pads lol.
 
I get about 9k miles out of the sahara rear tires. About 13k out of the front tire. Could maybe push 14k in the front tire but the rear completely gone. Trying the Mitas E-07 rear to see if gets 10k. Range has been 9300 to 12300 miles.

I finally found the pin that goes through the pads was bent enough to not let the pads retract all the way off rotor. I ride in a lot of dirt and dust and don't wash unless I am working on something. Put a homemade oiler on and hoping that helps. Cush rubber is still fine. Same rotor.
 
If you have the Strada, the stock Tourance EXPs or whatever they're called seem to last quite a while. The rear on mine is sitting on 12,5k miles and probably has 2k miles left in it.

That's with abuse/light off road and more higher speed riding than is responsible.

I run a Scottoiler, (my previous Scottoiler on my ZRX1100 (seriously modified) my chain & sprockets lasted 108,000klms)
At 16,600klms, my front & rear pads & discs look good
Clutch cables, in theory, last for years & years
I fitted an upmarket RK x-ring chain prior to my Birdsville trip, I think that the original chain was of marginal quality
About to do valve clearances & plugs - I see there's been some discussion on suitable plugs
With the airbox out will tidy-up my Pod-mod

I'm looking at the 07's to replace my K60 rear, not yet decided on front (Karoo 3 currently)

I replaced my Sahara front at about 5,000klms I couldn't live with continual "wash-outs" on anything that resembled dirt, changed the rear at 6,000klms for the K60 just before my Birdsville trip

I had my valves checked at 47,500km. One has a slightly larger gap than spec & the other 3 are still well within spec. The valve shims haven't been adjusted since I bought the bike home. Looks like they are pretty much 'set and forget'.
