As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Has anyone tried this kit out for a 4cs fix? I talked with csr suspension and it sounds like a great do it yourself kit. They also offer a sphere drop in cartridge. Not a whole lot of rider reviews out there yet.
What sort of money on both of these fixes?
So purchase the kit from CSR and self install prices, or send to them to be installed prices?
SMV Ryder, interested in unloading your Ray kit since you are upgrading to the Sphere?
I watched the videos on the install and it looks like I could do it, but too scared! Would end up having it done.
So how would you describe the difference. I know a lot of people complain about the 4CS. I came off a 2013 TXc310 with a suspension done by REP that was fantastic. My 2015 TE250 does not feel like that, but in the New England rocks it seems very serviceable. Both trail riding and Hare Scrambles. Just trying to understand the true improvements.
Thanks!

Hey everyone, I'm also interested in the RAY kit for my 4CS forks and found your thread when researching it. It sounds like a great kit, does anyone have any motocross experience on it? Smv rider I may be interested in purchasing if JP isn't, is the kit complete and how many hours would be on it? Thank you
My suspension guy has a nice VET track at his shop and that where I test/break in the suspension. I am not the fastest around his track but he is a EX pro,he is plenty fast still and he loves it around the track. A really good friend who is pro took 8th overall in the Kenda sprint series and he really loves the kit as well. He loved it so much he purchased the Sphere kit.
Yes the kit is available for sale.
If you have any more questions please call my suspension guy, his name is Bob Ashleigh and owns Motovate Racing. 970-456-2678
You will not be disappointed.. The fact the kit comes with a bottoming system makes it leaps and bounds better than other fixes.
