Updating and refreshing my new acquisition and ordered some plastic from DCplastics. Was told but others it was "good" but required some work to get on. Was reasonably inexpensive for the whole kit so i got it.
The kit is what i would call about 70% close to the original stuff. Off feel tot he kind of plastic it is, will be interesting to see if it holds up.
Airbox cover - Did not use as mine was in good shape and already installthe stickers on it.
Right side plate - Did not use because it does not have the back of tha air box lip. This would leave the filter open to rear tire roost. Not sure what they expect you to do there. Cleaned the old one up and put the sticker on it.
Rear fender - A little different than the original but close. Best fitting part in the kit. Need align and drill your own holes but that was simple. Good part.
Left side panel - Lots of cutting and zip tying to get on. Looks OK. Better than nothing but the fit is pretty bad. Nothing lined up. Need to drill holes for the rubber bumpers, EZ.
Overall the kit was cheap and I knew would take some work to get on. The right side panel sucked that even if I moded it to fit would functionally not be right and therefor unusable. Not impressed witht he kit but also not upset. It's about what I figured it would be minus the unusable side panel. if your willing to mod quite a bit to make it work the end result is good. I appreciate a company trying to help us out, wish the fit was better. Had this kit been expensive i would be pissed, for what it costs it is what it is, good kit if you are handy with mods.
Right panel missing the rear of the air box lip rendering it unusable.
Two zip ties and a hack saw to make the left one fit.
Rear fender fits very well
results of my labor are good...
hope this helps any of you thinking about swapping plastic out.
next project WR400 item, install blue USD forks, wheel and disk brake off a KX250.
