  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Detailed Specs for 2008 TC250 and SM450R and Set-up tips?

Does anybody have the detailed specs for the 2008 TC250 and SMR450 by chance? I found some deals I couldn't pass up so now I'm curious to see what I just ordered! The Husky site used to have spec sheets you could download but now that the new site is up, there is minimal specs available and no discussion of previous model years. I had a TE510 before so am familiar with the Huskies but I haven't kept up on my research for these models, was kind of a spur of the moment purchase.

Can't wait to see my new toys! Anyone have any specific pointers and suggestions for these bikes? What about break-in procedures? I know the "slow" method is preferred but I can't possibly spend 10-15 hrs put putting around on the 250 before I get after it. The SMR I can spend some easy time on it riding around town. Plan on installing the power-up kit right away to get the richer fuel map and of course grease and check the trouble spots as per the usual new bike set-up. Anything else you guys can offer??

BTW, anyone know how wide the shipping crates are? Can I fit both crates in the back of a full sized truck? As long as the crate is less than 24" wide I should be OK.

TC250 specs will be on www.Husqvarna-motorcycles.co.uk.

Click current range then x Archived models and you'll find bike specs going back to 05/06. SM450R specs won't be there as that bike didn't come to the UK in 08 but I should have them somewhere. Will post them up if I can find them.
