    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

And no, I am not Fox news but would be my choice for sure....:-)

Any updates on this? I'm considering a new TE449/511 and the pricing is $6100/$6500. If I'm reading this post correctly they could possibly be had in the mid $4k's? Or is the mid $4k the dealers cost?
 
Call a few dealers and see what they can do. That is the best way to get pricing right now. Some dealers are full price, some are offering deep discounts. I read about someone paying just $5400 OTD on a new Terra over at ADVrider, and the discount for those is supposed to only be $800. It all depends on the dealership.

Picked up my new WR125 yesterday! The deal on the discount is that "your" dealer had to sign up for the program to get the discount by taking the program bikes. Some did not and some were too slow on the draw....
How a dealer passes that on to you or me is really up to dealer. he may spread the discount to the non discounted bikes etc. Best thing you can do is to shop for pricing and know that this is out there. Do the math as to what retail is minus the discount and know that this figure would be your best deal. There is still profit margin in there for the dealer but again, up to him what he wants to do for you. I don't think any of the 449/511's were down in the 4's range though. Sounds like you are getting the bikes at a good discount, think retail for those was in the 8's

I called a couple of dealers yesterday, Eurosport in Asheville being one of them, and they are both selling them so fast at the prices above there is no reason to discount them any further. They both said they have sold more in the last 3 months than they did the previous year. One dealer did say he would take another $500 off the 511 bringing it down to $6k but with delivery fees, taxes, etc,etc he "should be able to get me out the door just under $7K". What the hell? How much are the usual add on charges???

I suspect they are telling you the truth. Just look at how many people popped up on here with TR's from Eurosport in the last couple months. The TR really is a bike built for exploring Appalachia.

Used to live in Squarebanks, but farther south now. Is it true there is a Husaberg dealer in Ester?
 
Just to keep the discussion alive and pointed toward savings for new buyers. One shop posted $6K for a Strada (don't know out of door cost with CA tax and register fee, yet). One BMW shop in Long Beach, CA "ahem" didn't know on sale either and came back with a matching $6K (the MINIMUM of the $1500-2500 Husky sale to June 30,2013) and said about $7150 out the door with CA tax and registration fees (with some bs $160 freight fees included, ...).

And then some guy 'said' he got a Terra out the door for $5400 in IN (no tax? tester?). And then the speculation he came back with was they are all $2500 off (for Terra's only because they are dirt, the 650's because they are the biggest? - what he' said and my logic too, or ALL husky's -???) The 650's unlike the rest of the husky's will have BMW support, so there is really no worry with these 2 bikes. They are definitely keepers, and I hear the Terra will blow away $10K KTM Duke!

I am just trying to peg when the $2500 off the Strada occurs if it does. $1500 is on the table to June 30, 2013 (and they have 10 years worth of these, but they may not get any cheaper). The ONLY reason I have a significant confidence level of suspicion is the dealers are the only ones that know which bikes are on sale (kind of odd sale usually promoted are specific by model in $ detail by NA Organizations), and the whole range ($1500 to $2500 off on Terra) has been reported so far. Don't get me wrong, $7K for a Strada out the door is sweet. But you have to admit, out the door at $6K is sweeter! And then I hope they go back up to $10K, directly after I get mine :-) But I won't really care after I get it. Relax dudes, you have the best bike ever made: ever!
 
The Terra is selling so briskly I agree with the previous posts about dealers not needing to discount them.
The Strada I don't think is selling near as well (here) so I wouldn't be surprised to see a substantial discount.

At my last visit to the dealer, he said there were 17 new models in the pipeline, and getting shot of the BMW based inventory made some sense, but he hasn't heard official word about big sales.
It's tough to believe there could be 17 new models out there, even if they built 3 or 4 based on one platform such as the Strada/Terra. They'd be talking 4 or 5 different platforms...

It's possible that by "17 new models" that included updates to existing models. The 2 strokes are excellent, but have been soldiering on with a relatively dated motor design for a few years...so maybe they're getting a spiffing up as well.
 
I talked to my dealer, who has sold more than 14 Terra's : he says the pipeline has dried up and he cannot get any more. As to discounted bikes, it all depends if they were ordered before or after the incentives came on: two bikes of the same model can sell for very different prices!

Confusing, at best.
 
Based on Facebook activity, it looks like two more TR650's left Eurosport Asheville today. Based on how many they are turning over, I'm guessing they are still pulling inventory in from other dealerships. If that is the case, that would explain the lack of big discounts on the East coast. Why sell at a huge discount when you can transfer inventory to another dealer. I may be thinking of this all wrong, but it makes sense in my head.
 
I was with one of the guys who picked up a Strada from Eurosport today. He was a happy camper. Donkey, am I understanding that they are not making any more Tr650s, or is the current stock in the warehouses just dry?
 
I finalized the purchase of my TE511 from Eurosport today and will pick it up next week. I was hoping to check out a Terra when I go pick my bike up but they may not have any in stock when I get there. I spoke to another dealer the other day who said he tried to order more bikes to get the discounts but that Husky USA doesn't have them in stock. If anyone is interested I suggest buying now before they are all gone.

Yes and no. We do know that they have temporarily halted production of everything in Italy. However, we don't know when they will restart, or what bikes they will build. It seems the intent of the discounts was to clear out inventory, but I can only speculate. We've been discussing this over on ADV in The Official Stefan Pierer Husqvarna Business Strategy Thread. A lot of people are thinking that to avoid competition with the KTM 690R, Husky's next move will be a dual-sport built on the new KTM/Bajaj 390 engine. I'd be interested in that for sure!
 
Thanks! Sounds like it could be a very cool bike. Only time will tell, but I think people grabbing a TR now will be happy they did so for a long time.

You should ride on over to Long Beach BMW Husqvarna and demo their used Terra. It's only got about 700 miles on it if I recall correctly. I bet they would give you a stellar deal on it. Ron is a great sales guy.

I demoed that bike and it was lots of fun. Can't be too many used Terras out there.

Polish importer finally reduced their prices for Terra/Strada (by ~$1,250) --> discounts reached European dealers too. Nuda and TE310 reduced too.
