• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Daniel 508s have a look at the registerable Honda CRF230. Its a really great bike for learners, mellow air cooled motor, very low seat hight and 6 speed box so it can keep up on the fire trails. I had one for my boy when he was 12 before he moved up to a wr250f at 15. The little honda is a really really good little bike ans sooooo easy to maintain.

I was also looking at the CRF models. My wife is really hot and cold about learning to ride. She would like, but nervous too...I may just have to give her more time to think. :excuseme:

I cant get rid of my DRZ with the 4gal tank. I love the freedom of a plate, knobs, and a fat tank. It is my multi day ride bike. The TE, well we all know what that is for. :ride:

The Sheetiron sounds like fun. Maybe a West Coast Husky dealer or fellow Nor Cal Husky enthusiast could put on a HuskyButt 300 or so kind of ride? Stage on the East side of the Mendo. and ride to the coast and set up camp for the night. Camping in the CA State Forest is free (8 in CA). It could be an affordable good ride. I would be happy to sleep in a tent and spend the room money instead on a steak and copious beers.

While I still ride a GP or XC once in a while, I really do find that the TE610 is more useful than my CRF450X was because it is a true dualsport machine ..... I am still tempted to pick up a WR300 or a TE450 for offroad though; The 610 works but is is a bit heavy if I wander into tight stuff.

The more relaxed pace and opportunity for camaraderie when Dualsporting with others on a ride is becoming my preferred motorcycling mode.
