  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I know about the custom IMS units that are available exclusively through the one husky parts guy.
but curious is anyone else has had luck with adapting, cross over of modern pegs (fast way?) to the Huskies.

I get my ride tomorrow from Montana and am going to start bolting things on!

I asked the same question not to long ago and ended up modding my frame, and putting on some from a 05 YZ250 now the options are endless...

Hi Mattskn,
Do you have any updated photo's? Any additional advice on mounting modern footpegs on a 1984 Husqvarna.

Thanks
Terry

Here are a couple pics of my Mod YZ aluminum frame 05-10 pegs and brackets. I made the mouning plate out of 1/4 inch plate and they are about a inch farther forward than the stock location. Havent rode the bike yet so cant tell you how it feels yet

Great Job updating footpegs

Fantastic job, I appreciate the extra photo’s. I have now decided this is the way that I will modify my Husqvarna. My motto is I don’t need to be a fabricator / welder. I just have to know one

Thanks again for your help

I did all the mochup and my good friend did all the welding, I wouldn't want to stand on my weld..All in all it was a fairly easy job..

For all,
Those IMS pegs didn't mount up correctly on my scoot. 81' 430. No provision for return spring and if I remember correctly they didn't seat correctly on frame. I was told by seller ".....just heat and bend and cut the springs, drill some new holes and they "SHOULD" mount up......". For $135.00 I want something that will mount up w/out modification. Plus after you do all that (cutting/heating/bending/drilling) and they still don't fit - non returnable b/c they been modified. My 2-cents worth.

I made the same error last year as Schim but have been running them just the same. Now the frame mounting holes are warbled out, considering drilling out to use M10 bolt
