  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Im looking to fit custom lights and aftermarket (cheaper) radiator fan myself. Is there a guide on how to wire these items up yourself?

:D

Yeah just thought this place would be best to start for Husky specific stuff.
When/if I find one will add link.

;)

just fitted one at the weekend... 20 dollar fan (yes its cheap ) ..couple of lengths of wire, waterproof switch and some fork spades for battery.. cable tied fan onto the back of my rad(rhs onto force rad guards)... wired from posi terminal along frame up to bars onto switch terminal and other terminal down to power feed wire on fan. negative along frame to earth wire from fan...done !... had had a bath in forest mud holes and survived my power washer so all good so far.. my bike is an o5 bike and the newer bikes have smaller tank and cut out for the larger factory fan to mount...no space for it on my bike so had to improvise.. looks ok and all wiring neat and tidy out of the way... pretty basic stuff... i suppose i could fit a temp switch but never bothered... probably will st some point ! one of those inline/inside hose T piece type which will be more costly than all of the rest ! :)

Thats sounds prett straight forward rab. I guess as long as I remember to turn it off there shouldnt be any problems running the battery flat.

Marky I have the 2009 model.

thats why i may fit a thermo switch too... but once the engine is off, the fan is audible.. or a switch with a light in it etc.. loads of wee things you can do but an 09 should have a fan as stock ?? my mates 08 and 09 both have fuel injection and smaller tank where the fan sits under ?
