• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking for recommendations on competent engine builder in CA. for a 86 510 TX. Nothing wrong with engine, I just need it freshened up and overall check up.

Any recommendations? I already know of Up-tite but I'd like to use 21st century payment methods.

Thanks

Yep, Motorcycle Hall of Fame Baja Guy. Takes CC'ds, Husqvarna dealer forever etc.

If you want the NW then there is that mechanic that keeps posting to TT - he puts up some great posts. Kelly knows who he is if no one else does.

Seems like a great guy.

If you want to keep local might want to try the guy that does suspensions in Livermore at the BMW shop for leads... used to have a shop near you. I'm having a terrible time with names today.

George will go to CC when a U.S.M.C. unit surrenders in battle.
Looks like a LOOOOONG wait that will never come.

Not sure who you are talking about. Russ Fletcher is the 4 stroke guru up here I always refer to but does not post anywhere on the web. Not sure he even owns a computer :D

Not Russ Fletcher

PNW guy. Older guy, awesome poster, knows his stuff especially about valves & 2004 bike valves. Runs a shop and you recommended before on TT or CH. I think he does a lot of ktm bikes.

Getting old is not fun

THAT'S IT****************************************!!!

Great guy from what I can tell!

Yup IIRC it was Dave Hopkins who diagnosed a clutch problem I was having when my bike was new (pinched crank case vent tube). Never would have thought of that & have had zero issues since unkinking

Thanks. Found him and sent an PM over at TTalk.

Yes, a huge wealth of knowledge and engine building. Dave is a great guy. Been there done that kinda dude. Works form experience.

I tried two of the recommended builders with less and enthusiast responses. One did not seem interested and other did not even bother to reply. In this day of economic woes, when money is tight, you would think they'd be happy for the business.

I guess it's Up-Tite that will get my money.

Just wow. You could always drive down there and make a trip out of it and save a big hassle of shipping. Then you 2 could look it over together and hand the money over in person if that was the decision.
