• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Every one still in love with their lectron?

Ok my 15 300xcw with jd kit runs pretty darn good, I would like a little better mileage, and flexibility for elevation. Thinking of running length of Idaho ride and dual sporting it- what are your thoughts ? ( last thing, I know it is orange- we both feel a bit of shame- but are getting through it.) ;)

Same bike exactly. I installed a lectron shortly after buying it new and haven't regretted it. 40-45 mpg dualsporting and high 30s single track. I had a bad reed block which caused some headaches recently and I thought it may be the carb but it was a broken reed. I'm happy with it. 36mm power jet and a 2-3xl rod.

I might just put a new reed block in this year for insurance, what did you use ?

Been using one exclusively since 2013 on the small bores. Love having 80+ mile range and it does seem to cope with altitude better than a standard carb.
I dont find it as 'snappy' as a PWK, but that's not necessarily a bad thing when woods riding. The positives hugely outweigh the negatives IMO.

No need to cut the air boot. Just install the 2017 ktm xc-w Intake Flange. Part # 55430250000 The xc-w Part # is approximately 10mm shorter and makes the install perfect...

The part # for the ktm 2015 300 xc-w Intake Flange is 54830050000 and the ktm 2017 300 xc-w is 55430250000. The 2017 Intake Flange should fit and is slightly shorter. No need to cut the boot. The Lectron should fit nicely.....It is well worth trying, not to expensive....
