• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

evo foot pegs

AA Class
just ordered two pair for my 87's , any body else get these ? old springs work ? forgot to say from
Andy @ HVA ,thanks !

please post pics when you get them mounted
I plan to get some of mine back on the trail and these look tempting

Yes, I just installed a pair on my 87 430. Rode with them for the first time yesterday.
I ordered the whole EVO package... bolts, washers, new springs. Everything fit without grinding. Much better pegs for standing that's for sure.

No, you can't use the old springs. I have two minor complaints, 1) they are heavier than I thought they would be, but they are stout built. 2) the new springs don't snap back the foot pegs, but I can live with that.
I can post some pics later.

so yours fit ok? my left is good but my right one has a slight peg and spring fit issue..on my bike the stocker is level and tight..

Yes, mine fit my 88 430 OK ( I said 87 430 earlier, sorry wrong bike). Each side fit nice and snug too... no wobble. And they seemed level or at the right pitch.
Like I said, the HVA springs don't return the peg... not enough spring snap back. But that's minor.
I bought two pair of HVA foot pegs, and I tried the 2nd pair on my 87 250 frame and they have some wobble. I think I'll need to grind a little and add spacers.

I didn't try to fit the stock springs since the HVA pegs are so different than stock.
They might work, but best case, you would have to drill a hole in each peg for the spring end.

amazing , pegs came last night. ordered 4-11 , received 4-14. that's UK to western Ney York ! and to top it off they came with spring &bolt package ! couple of HVA Factory stickers also . Andy , you are THE man!

put the goodies on the 87 xc430 , all was pretty straight forward , the brake side is a really close call with
the spring hole ,but will work.

Glad you like them!

Feel free to give the springs a bit of a 'tweek' with a pair of pliers to get them to sit perfectly if you need to.

We have been using them for some time now and they are proving just as good as our version for the twinshock bikes.

Many thanks,
Andy.

I had to trim the round ends of the peg to clear the frame when bolted in to allow the pegs to sit properly on the stop. Easily done with a power file. Great that Andy provides plenty of metal to trim with....better than being the other way! The peg in Sweed1030 photos above seems to have this isue also as it is pointing up too much. Fettling is what they call it!

same here, my left fit perfect. these pegs work really well after being made to fit

these are foot couches compared to stock pegs . PEZBerg was correct , did take a dremel and remove
a little material to level the peg (fettling is new to me haha) The other set I have are going on my
87 cr250 , hope it goes as well as with the 430. tweek the spring tine that goes in the hole to work best
for you, maybe even snip some length. I also removed a little material from peg on brake side to give
better clearance for spring pin. one other thing I did was put medium thread lock on , I know the nuts
are nylock , but you can't crank'em tight or you loose action , so better safe to keep my nuts right where
I want them . will try to do better with pics on the 250 fitment
