  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Extra oil/h2o cooling options for 05-07 510?

So after taking a step back and thinking logically :D I realized I need to do some testing, then just try out a cooler.
The setup I'm going to make will use one of the stock oil supply lines and a custom one the same length but with a pressure gauge.. A stock line from the oil filter to the cooler, the line w/gauge from cooler to head.
But to start, ill make that line and put it in place of the stock line to get a baseline pressure measurement. Then toss the cooler in place and see what changes

Ok. How much was the Hd waterpump? Get it from a certain dealer?

Anyone have a decent place for in line style oil coolers small enough for a bike? Having troubles finding stuff..

I got the water pump for $35 from my local dealer, but I had to wait for it. Motosportz should have them for a little bit more I think. I got my Samco hoses from www.racebikebitz.co.uk and they were about $140 shipped I believe. They have the T connection built in, and I trust Samco hoses over anyone else making silicone hose kits. The fit was spot on for me, tho some hoses needed slight trimming.

According to the Dirt Bike Magazine article I have on the Zip Ty Husky's, they use an oil cooler and radiators from Fluidyne. They dont list a part # though. If you are interested in reading the article, its in the October 2010 issue.

Sweet that's nice and cheap for the w-pump.

Whats the quality difference between th Cv4 and Samco hoses? They both have built in T's...

I dont know, but the Samco hoses were a better deal and are 5 ply.
Im not sure about the CV4, but Samco is the industry standard and they are used in all forms of racing including Moto GP, WSB, AMA etc.
