  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Factory rider Craig or Greg Torgenson?

Hi all. I own what I believe to be an 85 cr500 husky. I bought it around 92'. I was told it belonged to a Greg or Craig Torgenson who rode for husky?? aka Torqy Torgenson??? Ring a bell to anyone? It still has the AMA tag strapped to the frame. The cylinder head has had the black removed and Pro Circuit is etched into the side in cursive. It could have been a line they were giving me but they didn't stand to gain anything from it. Im sure all of these bikes are a crazy as this one. Really scary the first time I rode it at 18!!!

Help anyone?? Ive been wondering about this since I bought it!

I find it easiest to load them onto photobucket ( or similar) and then copy and paste the img link into your post...you should not be blocked from that.

Alternate method is to click onto the insert image above and load off of your computer ( will give you a thumbnail size image that can be clicked on and viewed larger)

A little history. The water pump eroded so it has been parked for some time at a friends. I took off the side tank stickers due to them falling off. I paid $650 for the bike, a second bike that was a 250cc came with it that didnt run. I have other up close pics of the motor etc. You can barely see the red AMA tag on the frame. It ran perfect. Btw Does anyone know where I can get a replacement side case? I ran into some on husqvarnaparts online but the side cases they have are aluminum. I was told mine is magnesium? Dont know if thats true. Let me know if the pics come out...

Pics come out just fine when you click on the link... for future reference you can copy the IMG link from Photobucket and post the link right into the body of your text... it will then come up showing the image in the thread.

Ebay for the side cover.... or post on here in the classifieds... or call any of the Husky part sources. Someone might have one.
