• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

well im getting my new 300 in a couple weeks or so and I was wanting to put a radiator fan on it.. which one should I get? I was thinking about getting the one in the husky parts book that has the digital read out on it..

also do these bikes have the ignition curve switch on them? does it even have that setup on it?

thanks guys

E-start 2 strokes, don't come standard with a cooling fan.

Fan you mention in Power Parts catalog, is the Trail Tech one. Installation is much simpler, than the other standard KTM/Husky fan kit, as temp sensor is just a metal tab, that slips into radiator fins. Digital read out is nice. I have the standard fan kit on my '12 Husaberg TE250 and you have to splice into the rad hose, to install temp sensor. I've had one temp sensor fail, but the replacement has been good for quite some time. Next time I'd go Trail Tech.... Double check price direct from Trail Tech, as it might be cheaper than Husky Power Part price.

TE300 has jumper wire under fuel tank for ignition maps. Unplug for soft map, plug in for standard map. The optional handlebar switch, can be installed, to easily switch maps while riding. I have this on my '12 Husaberg TE250 and it's nice to be able to go to soft map late in a race or when conditions get slick.

do you really feel a difference in the map switch? my buddy had one on his ktm 450 and he said it really dident do much?

On my 250 2 stroke it makes a huge difference in slick conditions. In muddy corners it gives a lot more controllable power.

Maybe it has more effect on 250's? I definitely notice mine on my '12 TE250. I run a KTM 250XC head modded by Cycle Playground, 250XC CDI and red power valve spring.

Here is a few pictures of the fan kit I just put on my 300. I went with the one from the power parts catalog. It wasn't too bad installing the temperature switch in the hose. Overall installation was pretty easy. image.jpg image.jpg
