• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well I have just about finished building the TE510. I fired her up sans headlight for a quick rip round.

WER Steering Damper fitted

Mecca systems sump guard

Samco hoses and an SRC 1.6bar cap I had kicking around the parts bin. uprated red coil and TM chain guide.

Throttle return cable removed to lighten throttle and G2 with a 400 cam fitted.

Sealant under rear fender bottom edge

Super B battery

Rad bracing factory styleeee..

WER weld on bracket, now painted white of course.

I'll finish the headlight mods tomorrow to fit over the WER steering damper link tube. Then its off to Langdale Enduro to marshal and get her bedded in
Photos were taken on my Nokia E65 so sorry for the poor quality.

Nice effort.

Did your bike some with cross bar handlebars? Your rad guard solution is interesting. I would think that wing as part of the rad would catch something on the trail or in a crash and cause damage not protect it. :excuseme:

No took the Twinwalls of my WR250 Husky.
The edge bracing is hidden behind the plastic covers!
MPS have used these for two years. They are as the CH team brace their rads!
It has bracing across the fins also, two on the rear top and bottom and one across the front middle.

how much cutting up of headlight to get the WER to have adequate clearance? I run a WER since 92 and looks like a bit of headlight mount clearance for 09

Hi Joe,
you just need to cut the bottom 'tooth' of the headlight. I removed the metal lower bracket and fitted 08 rubber straps to the headight. I am going to remove the top mount and fit two more rubber straps to the top I think.
I bent the top bracket to get a little more lift and it seems to be OK. I have riden it around this afternoon and the headlight hasnt interfeared at all.
