I raced for the first time today
Today was the first race of the season in Utah. This year is a slow year of trying to get the local racing scene back together, so only 4 races.
I was riding my new to me TC250 with michelin supermoto pre-grooved slicks. They work really well in the rain
Heres the video of most of the heat race:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mue2pVufgTs
It was a little painful on the noggin and shoulder but I got back up to finish 5th out of 7 for heats..
Then I got the the main races. I pulled through the the pack again somehow, and by lap 3 of 7 I was in 1st!!! Then about a lap after that I ran out of fuel!
I almost won my first race..
I wished I could have got video of that but my SD card was full..
There were only 7 riders that showed up to race in the rain today. 250 (expert), two 450 (beginners), 450 (expert), and a ktm 560 (expert on rain tires). Somehow, I managed to blow past all of em! It was really weird to try and pass. I've never ridden so close to anyone on the track before!
