• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I remember back in the mid eighties when the top side car drivers used the Folan 2x500cc engines and the similar 2x500cc KTM based EML Jumbo engine, those where the days

The sound when a couple of the big two stroke twins accellerated towards the first corner when the race started, simply ....... excellent....

I visited a friend of mine living a couple of hours from me, guess what he got in a shed.

A 4x250cc water cooled Folan :D
They only made one, and this is the one.
It was used in a side car for something called " Back race".
It's a race where you start at the bottom of hill and drive up the (mostly) gravel road towards the top.
Of course did I forget to bring the camera, but the kid got a decent phone camera.
So pictures are soon coming up.

Here are some pictures of the 4x250cc Folan
The kickstart that goes forward has been slightly extended

:applause: ahhhhh the big Big Folan 4x250
This beauty delivers roughly 220hp, or at least it did last time when they checked it.
The plan is to install the motor in the original frame and race with it again, vintage of course:rolleyes:

thats just simply incredible.....the go kart thing is not a bad idea at all....would love to hear that 4x250 running...amazing

Don't know if the sound from the 4x250 is so far from the 2x500 since it fires 1+3 and 2+4 simultaniously.
When my friend built everything together can I promise you pictures and a small movie with sound from the testing :D
