    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Fork Seals blown riding TAT..Need Advice.

Well my right fork seal is blown. I woke up this morning to a pretty nasty puddle by my front tire and my heart sank. Of course it's Sunday so all shops are closed.

Can anyone recommend a good shop in Utah?

I don't have the parts to swap fork seals in the field and would rather a service center handle this one. I plan to call Hall's tomorrow and see if I can overnight them.

I'm open to any advice at this point as my riding partner has to hit the end of the trail by next Friday due to work. I'm thinking this is a 3 day delay at least and we really didny want to skip trail.
 
Buy SKF seals if you can. They are more expensive but worth every penny, less stiction and longer lasting.

We headed up to Provo,UT last night.

Called Edge Powersports this morning and won the lottery. They ended up having 1 fork seal in stock. They had me back on the road in under 2 hours.

I'll look into the SKF seals when I get back home. Finding a part number for the seals was a huge pain.
 
unless you can see visible damage to the seal, get a real thin feeler gauge, push it past the fork seal and run it right around fork..don't mess about doing this cause oil will leak and keep the gauge flat, you don't want to cut the seal, just wipe the lip.

Without looking you maybe able to slide the dust seal down and see if there is anything (grease included) between dust seal and fork seal which maybe be lifting the seal during travel, if there is, remove it and your problem maybe gone as simple as that....this is exactly what I did on my Aprilia Dorso and its now dry as a bone:).
