• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Mustard? Never heard of it being used for muscle cramp relief or prevention.Any special type I should be looking for? Any chance you have a link I could look up?
I have a friend that swears by mustard. He eats a spoon full of yellow mustard anytime he starts cramping and says it relieves the cramping in a few minutes. I intend to try it next time I need it but I have only cramped up about three times in my entire life.

I knew a girl in my old mtb team that to ward off cramps mountain biking would drink pickle juice. I also started using Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar exclusively in my daily salads as well in glasses of water. Apparently it's supposed to be helpful for muscle cramps... http://www.livestrong.com/article/282008-cider-vinegar-to-treat-leg-cramps/

I also have had so much in the way of food poisoning and salmonella recently that I figure if vinegar is good for disinfecting and cleaning that it's probably a good internal cleaner along with GSE.

Jake on this sight suffers from crazy bad cramps due to crash injuries. He said eating straight yellow mustered is the best remedy.

Ruffus, read up on Vinegar as thats what they think works in the mustard as well. Jake says mustard gets rid of it faster than anything he has tried.

Cramps can be caused by a deficiency in acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter that stimulates muscles to work. Mustard contains acetic acid, which helps the body produce more acetylcholine.

Also - deficiencies of potassium, calcium or magnesium may be what causes cramping

I'll try the mustard trick next time I cramp up, could be tomorrow as I'll be working outside all day & it seems to follow long hot days of exertion, no matter how much I hydrate. Time to eat more salads too, heavy on the vinegar. Thanks for the info guys.

salts the old school cramp remedy isn't it? drink the odd Gatorade or powerade(cordial with 'electrolytes' in em) between water intake when sweating it out. water good for rehydrating but flushes/dilutes/doesn't replace essential salts/sugars blah blah blah. do some stretching in the morning & during the day too.

punch out a few bongs during lunch & youll forget all about cramps. probably forget all about work too:D

lucky you didn't come riding with me years ago mate. used to stop for half time billy time:rolleyes:
had to grow up at some stage I guess:p
