• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Total fork length was 41 inches.

Awesome bike. Congrats to your friend.

Really in a wonderful state and complete (first time I see one with the chain guard, which I'm looking for by some time now for my 85 125).

Side stand is not original, handle bar should not be white in my opinion.

I like a lot this 85 model, see below for husky advertising:

If it was in French Canadian I think it would be something like this;
Un vélo sans cheval pour tirer ce qui rend d'alimentation 40 chevaux à utiliser sur votre ferme pour la récolte rapide. S'adaptera 3 vaches à l'arrière.

Got Rod's bike all fixed up and modded.

Its a big bike, must be a WRX. Has the long fork tubes like XC.

New fork seals, boots, front 86 rim with caliper and master and new front tire, fork and disc guards, grips, bars, bark busters.
Fork tubes had the mounts for disc so i swapped out the drum crap.
New cables, head light bulb, shock boot , intake manifold, air filter, blue hoses, chain rollers.
changed out wish bone and dog bones with good used spares as all the bearing were dry and fell out. lol
took the tail light and harness off to save it.
Cut up some yellow back grounds and added some of my custom made decals.
Took the rear rim from his 84 500 XC i restored, it lost the gold on it but had a new tire.
New rear shoes, wheels bearings front and rear, new oring chain and went down to a 13t sprocket from 14
The 400 rim was mint so it was needed for the 500.

Lots of goodies from Huskydoggg :)
