• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

From Baja to Bradshaw

Stroker Ace

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi all: My bike has been yelling at me to go out again since Baja, so I lubed the chain, filled the tank and went on what I'll call "Bob's Brashaw blast to Blythe and back". From No. Shore of Salton Sea the trail (nice road) goes to the alfalfa fields in Blythe. Then highway into town (I was alone and a little spooked at this point not knowing where I was), then I saw the 10 fwy. and a gas station, 91mi. by now. Had an energy bar lunch, then found some one in their front yard that told me of a dirt road that led to Wiley's Well road and back to Bradshaw. Wiley's Well road!!! A manicured 3 lane wide flat smooth road with some gentle sweepers and a 15mph. speed limit****************************************!!! Yeah like that's gonna happen on the 610**************************************** But being alone I kept it just below 90 (86 actual), then picked up Bradshaw and headed back. The road and terrain was HAUNTINGLY like the road to Alfoncias, almost to the point of having flashbacks!!! Had a blast and the bike ran flawlessly ****************************************!! enjoy the pics...

Is that bullet holes in the unexploded ordinance? :busted: Yahoo! It looks like you had an excellent ride and this is a great time of year for the low desert.

Looks like a fun ride on the right bike for it. Nice. Thanks for sharing.

- seeing your seat makes the month wait to get mine done from Creeper all that much harder.

Stroker Ace has one of the nicest seats I've ever seen.

No, really!

He even has a little Timerider pocket where he stashes TicTac's in case he runs into a rider with breath that isn't exactly lemony fresh:D

Nice write-up, SA. I wish we'd been able to ride last weekend. I was busy recovering from the nasty cold I felt coming on Saturday night in Bay of LA.

sweet pics and nice ride Bob ****************************************

Woodschick.. I think I had the same cold!!! Felt horrible since last tuesday to just bout yesterday. I was all messed up.. didn't know if what I was feeling was from bruised ribs from goin down that first day or if I was just irritated from eatin so much dust.

BTW. not to highjack, but THIS baja adventure is just now done for me. rolled into home about 2a.m. last night. Left Costa Mesa late Thurs. nite. 7,200 miles + total. :)

20 degrees now so all I'm ridin is the couch. supposed to be 40+ in a few days so looks good there. When I'm a lil rested I'll prob start a new thread with some pics from my drive back. Got a couple good ones from a ghost town/ deserted campground in N.M. :)

With how clean your bike is Bob I'm surprised strangers even point you towards dirt roads. LOL ;)
