• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

:excuseme:can anyone tell me why those aftermarket axle nuts (bolt really) are 15mm. Nothing else on my bike is 15mm.
I filed mine down to 14mm as I already carry one.

So they fit the axle nut wrench:lol:.

Just guessing the Huskys used to have regular front axle bolts, then someone decided to put these giant hex axle bolts on them ????? 12 mm hex is a lot harder to find than a 15mm wrench. In emergencies we've seen guys stick two 6mm hex wrenches into the 12 mm hex to remove.

The Orphan sports a Motosportz nut, and wrench, so should yours!

One wrench pulls two wheels.

I gots me a MZ one also. It's very nice!
I'll have to take that giant allen wrench back to Sears and get my $8 back one of these days.....

Those wrenches are looking nice too. I'll have to get one on my next order.

Actually to be perfect, I think it would have to be made of skeletonized titanium, but then who could afford one:D. Ken

Replace the 12mm hex Front axle

Would be nice if the replacement (up-tite / motosportz) front bolt was something a little more common size (12 or 13mm) so you could carry a pair of motion pro levers like these:

It was suggested to me to take another tool and weld a piece of 14mm hex to it (or a nut/bolt head that is 14mm).

Trying to go super light with the tool kit...

Don't want to have to carry stuff like this in the fanny pack:
