    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Front number plate for 610? (rubber band clamp style)

Anybody know of a front number plate that attaches using the same method as the stock 610 headlight (4 rubber bands)?

I tried buying a KTM number plate of some sort but it's supposed to be bolted on so it doesn't have the holes for the rubber bands. The number plate for my WR has the new-style clip on the bottom, so that won't work on my 610 either.

Just looking for an easy way to drop the headlight and put a race number on the bike for competition that doesn't require lights. I've been ziptying my number plate on but it doesn't fit well, looks dumb, and isn't very secure.
 
C'mon guys, nothing? Somebody must have put a number plate on their 610, or have one of the older bikes with rubber band clamps...
 
The new TXCs (2012/2013) have the same style number plate as my WR, which mounts to the lower triple clamp with a little bracket and has a single bolted point off the upper triple (behind the gauge cluster on the bikes that have it).

However, I wonder if one of the older TXCs might use the rubber bands...
 
make an "I" bracket with perpendicular tabs and run any plate you wish. one tab fits where the top bolt and captured nut goes, another wider one at the bottom with holes and rubber grommets to capture the lower posts on the plate. basically expand on the factory TC type bracket. the top/bottom of the "I" made wide enough to reach the sliders with rubber coated or vinyl dipped bends in them to form fit to the leg and capture the rubber bands you rob from your headlamp or get from Acerbis or UFO etc. get creative, grind, paint, file, smooth, round off, should look sano when yer done and install in a jiff.
