• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Front tire ideas

I like the Fatty front, use Tubliss, and also found around 10 psi as a sweet spot.

Another new front tire I'm trying and liking, a Michelin StarCross 5 Medium. Only done 2 rides with it and loving it so far.

I run the M59 or MT16 between 8 and 12 psi on Tubliss at 185lbs without gear.
Minimal roll.
I tend to have the perspective with the Tubliss of this:
I run my normal tire PSI and the Tubliss prevents me from getting a flat.
I don't run super low pressure expecting performance enhancements, just hate changing flats in the field, and carrying irons.

I run the same combo and about the same pressures, but with UHD tubes. It is the go to setup for NE. I am curious about these Golden Tyres.

What's the lowest pressure you've run? I'm running10psi with a heavy-duty tube. Wondering how low you can go before it starts to roll or feel wobbly......

Im down to 5psi, ive run it with 0 and it was rolling a little bit but still rideable. id say lowest would be 2-3psi. It runs so good at 5 I honestly think its flat sometimes because how well it hooks up...

I just gave my used 216 fatty to my brother cause he runs front tubliss, might be better at 6-8psi.
Thinking of the metzler 6days or the pirelli mt16 front. I slso hear the bridgestone m59 is good

I'm running a GT216 Fatty front with Tubliss and I won't go below 7 on it. It likes a little pressure.
Just an FYI to the group, I'm running a D803 GP at 5-6 psi tubliss in the rear now (which replaced a GT216X), and it is my favorite rear of all time. I've tried several of the Trials/Trials-Hybrids. None of them have any side bite, but this one seems to (at least while its still got fresh nobs).

Also, the BattleCross X30 is a darn good front tire in the dry conditions. I haven't tried the X20 or X40 yet, though I want to, some day.

Goldentyre Fatty front works great in our area too. I run Tubliss also and keep it at 10 PSI. I have gone lower and it did seem to roll a bit and just made me nervous but I am a fatty myself. Tubliss rear and with low to little pressure 4-6 psi almost anything hooks up.

IRC ve35 is my preference. I don't run tubliss though either. I've gone back to this tire many times after trying others. I do like the goldentyre fatty a lot though.

For what its worth I run the battlecross X40 on the rear & am loving it, around 4-5psi if I remember correctly.
