• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FFS, everyone just chill out already

To attempt to get this post back on track, the reason I thought the consumption figure was L/100km was due to the manual, which states:

CON function:
When this function is activated, press the "S" button for more than 4 seconds to reset and start a new count of the litres/ gallons consumed from when the average consumption (L/100km) has been reset.

So where is the average L/100km figure displayed?

I believe that the Nuda uses the same instrument panel and they have copied & pasted this into the Terra manual. Just like the mention of being able to read coolant temp in addition to the bar graph. A publishing error.

A friend and I rode in the Henry Mountains, located in Southern Utah, over the last weekend. He is a conservative rider so I thought this will be a good time to see how my consumption will be. We did not go over 55 mph and rode at an average speed of 35 mph or so. 50/50 asphalt/dirt, 70 degrees, between 4,000 and 9,000 elevation.

162 miles with 1.77 US gallons used. 58.48 Miles Per Gallon is what my calculator says.

I have calculated as low as 45 MPG while running-in and fooling around town. So I feel using 50 MPG is reasonable for most of my riding at this time.
