  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

fuel treatments

Kaw team had no issues ......reverse engineer the same layout that the Green bikes are using? Ivan's H&H bike has been solid no? Just feeding the frenzy!! ( Nicks bike is carburated-- but Betas too will soon be FI)

BTW I have run nothing but pump gas with ethanol in all my fleet of bikes for decades with no issues. I only have one EFI bike (TE511) and it has had nothing but pump premium Chevron from day one, zero issues. :excuseme:

The same as 99.9999% of the population.

The ethanol hysteria is just that.

They wash their gas cans and have them certified every week, triple filter their gas. They are KTM and can afford to do that. How is anyone else supposed to race these bikes, I don't know...

Husky dealer where I got my bike gets crazy over gas. He says most of the problems he sees in his shop are due to ethanol. Had me using Star tron but said scrap that and use Liquid Performance. Works better and boosts octane. Seems to work well. Had popping/stalling problems. Raised the idle and started using Liquid Performance and popping/stalling alomost went away. They say this won't hurt motor even if use the higher rate, anybody with any experience with fuel treatments?

It the higher idle that stopped the stalling!

That said, Ethanol sucks. I use Lucas ethanol killer....and my gas lays around for a while as I have like 9 bikes!

KTMs have ridiculously small holes in the injectors

Hmmmmmm...maybe it's not a bad idea to keep the 4 pt injector on my TE250...it seems to fun fine on it once it was i-beaten to death anyway.

I guess the 4 larger holes are less likely to clog than the 12 smaller ones?

I ran some Techtron through my TE250 and it runs super now.....really, with an open Arrow Ti-pipe it runs about the same as my 2012 TXC310 with the SA in it's arrow Ti pipe, maybe a little less bottom.

I read that ethanol is bad for the two strokes but I'm not sure about the Ethanol content in fuel here in Spain, I think all the gas stations sell E5 fuel, so max 5% of ethanol... Don't really know how to get this information, maybe I'll email some gas companies over here and see if I get a response from them hehe

Just wait till the E15 gets crammed down your throats. It's coming here already. I can still find 100% 91 octane gas where I ride frequently and my bikes run really good with it and I get 48mpg on my 501. The 93 octane ethanol crap here in the land of suck (read Illinois) gives me inconsistent performance and lots of decel popping and less fuel mileage. Great product and were saving the planet too!

I've noticed that in the land of corn on my travels there are stations with no ethanol that will proudly post large signs to draw savvy customers to their pumps. Here in Komifornia, it's s roll of the dice as to what you're pumping, summer blend, winter blend, tree hugger blend, etc.

save yourself from spending double and get 2 X as much, with : Lucas brand ethanol stabilizer: a 16 oz. bottle costs $10.00: any car parts store sells it: it's a green color: 1 oz. treats 5 gal: I use a 1/2 oz. of that, and 1 oz. of Marvel Mystery oil, almost every tank (sometimes I forget to, - only human !)

Seriously, they don't mark the ethanol blends in CA?
