    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I snagged this from an article on racerx. Looks like gas gas is going racing in the national enduro championship with Broc Hepler. Hepler was a pro mxer a few years ago before he hung up his boots because of a few concussions. Good to see he is going to be racing again and good to see gas gas looks to be trying to make a go of it.

Earlier this week, GasGas announced they had agreed to a deal with Hepler to race the National Enduros and maybe a few Full Gas Sprint Enduros. “Broc has been making the transition away from the National motocross world to the off road market and will be a great asset to help us continue develop our enduro models,” Mark Berg of Gas Gas Motos NA stated. “He’s already been testing the bike and feels very comfortable on the EC250. We look forward to working with Broc and John Barber on bike development along with racer growth in the east coast.”
 
Broc showed up about 4 years ago, at a local ECEA/D4 Enduro and he won the Overall. We figured ex MX fast guy shows up and keeps time off the experienced guy on his row.... Flash in the pan! Not what we thought though, he got the enduro bug bad, learned the different formats and won the ACES Championship last year. Super nice guy too!
 
Dude flat rocks and a top knotch guy.... and ACES are pretty tough enduros..... I wanted to do them this year.... not sure if I'm gonna be ready....
 
I always likes Brock. Glad to see his health after the concussion issues will let him race the series. Good move for the new Gas Gas

He was a really good pro mxer.
 
Fact- pro level MX guys form the base for the best off road racers. MX racers are best dirt bike riders over all, MX is the Formula 1 of off road moto racing. I always hoped that LaRocco and Windham would hit the offroad circuit after their MX careers I always pegged those 2 and their skill, conditioning and hardcore mentality to be great offroad guys.
I have always been hoping for what happened at this ISDE Thanks Ryan Sipes (former Pro MX guy) with the addition of also one of our guys getting WEC championship, I had Kurt pegged for an E2 world championship......
I witnessed Guy Cooper on his RM250 pass me* on the trail back in the day as well and he with his bicycle background and super MX balance experience was a single track trail ripper as well.

*The honor and fortune of being passed by many world class level guys..being on the same playing field(course)....and never forget passing one of them (Hatch RM250)...after he ran out of fuel during an HS race.
 
I also remember all the pundits of Enduro not giving him good odds of success when Stefan Everts decided to do the Brazil ISDE (lots of silty sand) and smoked everyone. Seemingly without too much effort and never (for the most part as an MX diva) before having to work on his own bike.... zero SX (well almost zero) all MX at the highest level 10xworld champ. Jumped into the middle of the worlds best enduro guys at not just a standard season 2day enduro GP but the six days and smoked all of them....read his test times.....he really did kill it.
Imagine MXer Herlings on that same event (mostly sand).

Ya I remember the never ending struggle he had to complete a season healthy. Like lots of other riders it's a shame we never got to see his full potential on the MX track. But all things lead to something else and it's good to see him still racing somewhere.

Remember Doug Henry showing up in Florida a few years back for the opening round of the GNCC series and winning what some consider to be the toughest race in the series? He almost died afterward. Ha.

I would love to see Windham take a crack at offroad racing. That style of his would make watching him ride gnarly sections look like he could do it whilst sipping tea.
