So, just to clarify, the SM ECU + JD Tuner, does NOT produce the same performance as the TE ECU? To get the max from a modified bike, we need the TE ECU AND a JD Tuner?
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Sounds that way, I will be trying all SMS/TE/JD combinations next weekend on my SMS(something came up this weekend)So, just to clarify, the SM ECU + JD Tuner, does NOT produce the same performance as the TE ECU? To get the max from a modified bike, we need the TE ECU AND a JD Tuner?
But then I have to use the heavy factory dual exhaustThe Arrow ECU would be even better I think![]()

Please update. I may seriously consider "experiencing a short in my SMS ECU" and requesting the dealer order a TE ECU. Make Husky do what they should have done in the first place.Sounds that way, I will be trying all SMS/TE/JD combinations next weekend on my SMS(something came up this weekend)
I just opened my airbox.. what a difference2nd gear wheelies are sooooo easy now. But that's also how it should be on a 600cc bike

I'd like to know what this guy did to his bike....I know from watching the first 35 seconds that his bike kicks mine in the ass....

Same here.
That looks like a 3rd gear wheelie at 67KPH which equates to 42MPH. Is it just me or, does that seem completely impossible to other SM630 owners?
Yep mission impossible
@Rocko Clutch of course![]()
I haven't purchased my SM 630 yet, but plan on doing so tomorrow. It seems like everyone is clutching at straws and really doesn't have a definative answer to the question/problem of the acceleration/freeway cruising. Surely someone from Husqvrna or one of the tech's should have it down to a science and know exactly what to do.
