I just got a GO PRO Hero wide angle cam and was wondering if anyone else is using / used one ? What do you think?

Just goof'n around the house the sound seems crappy, but the picture isn't bad. It gives a very wide shot.

Until I got to the bold part I thought you were talking about a camshaft with a reduced overlap.

I have a Oregon Scientific
which is OK. (you get what you pay for) I think it was around $100
their mounting system that come with the camera sucks.
flops around lots.
cameras pretty good. Kids use it in the pool, you can duct tape it to anything. Picks up vibration lots.
Also have a Sony Bullet cam plus accessories I bought off of e bay. The bullet cam also plugs into my camcorder and that works real good. here's a small one I did

Great Video and very clear!

I kept looking for Ptarmigan , Grouse or some snow shoe Hares.... makes me want to dust off the old Winchester 410 single shot when I see forest trails like that....

That's only about 600k north of here.

One ride (I didn't have my helmet cam on...to bad) I scared up a Grouse
and was just inched from grabbing it in mid flight.
Man it was close. If it was on my left instead of right (throttle)
I could have had him.

Post up some vid when you get a chance.

I have a GO HERO.....170 degree lens

I like it...I have used it quite a bit.....a bit confusing at first till you figure it out

most of you have seen these I think..??? you got to crank up the sound !!!

That was one of my first attemps...learn lots in a hurry.
Cameras to low on the helmet don't bob you had up and down .
Don't look all over the place. It almost make ya sea sick...

One thing I notice when watching your vids Troy
You head is like a ROCK. No I mean you're not looking around that much very smooth.
I know having the 170 degree lens helps. But watch mine then watch yours.... night and day difference.
How did you fit so much onto Potobucket?
I could get a 1/4 of mine on there to big I guess.
Did you attemp any editing? with software.

Hey Dave hope your ankle is gettin better.....

I used Moviemaker....it separates the AVI format into small clips that you drag to the bottom and create your movie in FLA....the format is eventually converted to a FLV which meets photobucket requirements....if you dont do this it ends up NFG then your SOL...then its like WTF??? HA!!

I learned a long time ago always wear a very tight helmet so as not to blur your vision....I'm not sure thats why it doesnt shake...But to be honest..when I wear the cam I totally forget its there and ride as I normally would.....

Its best to wear it all day and take plenty of batteries and 2GiG chips....and keep it on all day...and forget it...

the clarity when you burn it on DVD and watch it big screen with surround is unbelievable....

I usually run a sony bullet cam and canon ZR10 camcorder in the camelbak,its a little heavy and wanted to eventually buy something self contained,but I like being able to shut it on and off during the ride,with the LANC button you have the ability to stop taping if your taking a break or if you fall!

I think I have a clip with norm on his 02 husky somewhere,not sure if it was him,but someone on a husky pulled over for me in a tight section,didnt think there were too many huskys in the woods that day

Ya I run a lanc also and a switch for my bullet too.
Did you have any trouble with song selection on Utube?
Til I figured out how to fool them I couldn't use any MP3.
that I liked.

Ill look for norms clip(may be another husky dude,he can probably confirm if its him or not),I used movie maker and I put the songs in there when it was uploaded,havent run across any problems with you tube

I have been trying to upload a better clip you can actually watch,most of the time they look great on a DVD,but they get very cloudy and are not very sharp on video sites,heres the best I got for now
