    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I had mine done last summer and I'm on ECU prog. 8543016 (updated from 8532185,) Integration level KH24-13-02-500
 
I am fortunate to live only 70klms north of PFG, the ex-importer. They still have the capability to update. (FOC)

Initially I would contact/email DOTARs, stating the safety problem, stalling in my case (and yours!). Also mentioning the Canadian USA recalls.
Only a few of us have done it, so please do it.
It was DOTARS that pushed PFG to look at my bike.


I don't think we should have to pay for the update when the dealerships were ill prepared and still are.

In our area I get good service from the our local BMW shop, 4 hours drive away.

You state on your web site that you are a responsible company that take service and safety further than other companies. Or is that only in marketing?

You developed and designed a bike called the Terra/Strada 650 under the brand name Husqvarna that you owned at that time.

Sadly I bought it in a country where things are not so straight forward.
In your check list of that time for pre-delivery, software update was not included as an item.
So a lot of bikes have never been upgraded, to latest version.

And when if the recall software is done, how can we get it?

My humble request is that you enables software updates in the Philippines or better worldwide through your MOSS/OSS software and service network.
For improved safety of the people riding a bike that your company designed.

Because the engine dies or stall on the most scary places.

Yes, 52.3.002 is the dealer software version from around July 2014 so they have not updated since then, if they had programming capability though it does have the latest of the firmware files for the Terra/Strada so they could resolve most problems by doing a firmware update on your machine

Organising any form of recall or action here in PH is going to be pretty much impossible. The only way will be if the US recall results in legal action and we have a properly documented case to base our claims upon.

Philippines never even had a bona fide dealer set up for the 200 TR650s that are here. They were imported and sold at various prices by a company called Granstar who have turned out to be somewhat lacking in quality of service particularly in the after sales.
Listing themselves as the 'official husqvarna/ktm reseller for the Philippines' Granstar even issued their own very limited warranty on various parts of the bike, example .......battery one week, engine and mechanical parts 10k km etc etc. Their record of honouring even these limited warranties is abysmal to say the least.

Original price of the bikes new was around US $10K but with mickey mouse sales practices and the stalling issues etc the bikes did not sell well.
Granstar eventually sold the remaining bikes off at 50% discount price to basically get rid of them and there are still a few small shops that have one or two them brand new at US$ 5k or thereabouts. Despite the actual bike problems and the lack of dealership/warranty etc it represents good value for money when you consider the ridiculous prices of other imported bikes here. (eg BMW S1000RR, US price $14k, here $31K and the dealer (stealer) says its customs and taxes)

So with little or no dealer support, owners here have to resort to backstreet bike shops or their own mechanics to get even the simplest thing done to the bikes. Consequently nobody has a stamped up service book or real dealer history to show that the bike has been maintained to specs.
Secondhand Bikes are now being 'offloaded'by owners as fast as they can get rid of them and at amazing prices too. Last week there was a Strada with only 800 km on the odo and full Touratech accessories fitted being offered for the equivalent of US$ 5300.

With most owners either having made modifications, including myself, or wanting rid of the bikes, getting a recall organised probably may never happen. The relevant Government Trading standards departments are still in the dark ages here.

Some interesting points in your reply.

Granstar should be held accountable
A BMW or KTM dealership may be able to help. I know your country is widely spread, but it would be good to have at least one point to go for ECU updates.

There is presently no recall occurring in Australia. But a number of TR owners have registered a complaint with the relevant safety and/or consumer affairs departments, about the stalling issue.
So at least there is an "email trail" in the event of serious personal injury. IMO I think yous should do the same, regardless.

I have if I understand correctly is the latest firmware.
After a stall, in a 90 degree turn with passenger on the back, this will be fixed...

I will try to follow the advice of people on the forum and do the LC-2 Innovate modification.
Already done Pulstar Spark plugs.

There are some circular unit that does the temperature mod, but it does not make a great difference over time as people has already mentioned. Will be removed.

Have to do the 10K service, so when the last parts arriving, that is a good time to try to fit everything.

Parts I do have, ready is
Innovate LC-2, missing *heat resistor, in order*
Bigger fuel injector and GS-911

So here is my plan, do 10K service, because of valve clearance check "everything" need to be dismantled anyway...

Drag up cables tidy and nice.
Will remove the temperature spoofer,,

Not sure if I will need bigger fuel injector or I should do only LC-2?
Else fuel injector alone then add LC-2 on top..
any advice,,,
With GS-911 easy to reset fuel mix to default..

I agree with this. And it seems the logical place to start, if BMW was to demonstrate integrity.

Yes that is the last US firmware release, if you are having continual stalling issues then look for the faults which are causing it, we know the last firmware release runs well

Fit the larger injector, reset adaptions and run it for a tank of fuel or 2 and see how it goes

The LC2 should only be considered an enhancement to a well running machine, no point in attempting enhancements if there are non firmware faults causing problems
