• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

headlight issue....motosportz maybe can help here

Husqvarna
A Class
i have a 06 TE-510 and its basically 100% stock. I dont like the quality of the stock headlight unit. Its not very bright and was considering purchasing the motosportz Halogen X2 unit.
Here is another issue with the bike. When i hit the brakes and activates the rear brake light my headlight deems a little light the bike cant handle powering the healight (high beam) rear light and brake light at the same time. The bike seems to start fine but if i were to try starting it for 15 seconds i think the battery would start getting pretty weak but the bike always starts up so its not a problem.
If this is all common on the huskys then i'm not worried.
So if it is common then i would buy the halogen X2. But does it mount the same way as a stock unit with the rubber bands on the sides? Does it just plug right in to the wiring harness? I would like to have it be 2" low beam and both lights for highbeam. Would the charging system handle that?
thanks for ur help
dave

I'm not sure why you did not get an answer but everything you described is completely normal.

I believe the X2 light connects the same as the stock unit with bands, and there are 2 lights - one low beam and one high beam. They are 35W each just like the stock unit.

At least I think that is how it works. They are not DOT approved if that makes a difference to you.
