  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hi all just after some info on bash plates........i have the stock plastic bash plate one on my bike now and it cracked today after a ride...........so just wondering witch one to get

ps... are the p3 carbon bash plate any good????????

thanks H.B

Depends what you're looking for. P3 makes a CF and Hyde makes a plastic one. I like the Up-Tite Aluminum ones, a real work of art.

I run the P3 and like it a lot. A friend has the Husky Hard Parts aluminum one and have to say the build and quality is excellent. The price was not that bad at all either.

Am running motosportz's on my txc. Matter of fact, that's my bike on their website showing the 2010 skidplate. Good fit, good coverage and good price. And no, Kelly's not paying me to say this:D

We have the P3 and live in Major rock area.. The best thing with the Carbon is you don't feel it thru the bike when you take a hit harder then you wanted too.. with Aluminum its a solid thud..

We have the 210TE 250 also along with the header and boot/pant guards.. Sweet

Chow, Carl

I tried the Hyde Racing Teflon/Co-Polymer on my TE450 and has been great. It also covers the whole lower frame. Been 100% aluminum user until this one.

Husqvarna has a alu bash plate which is not to expensive, if the guys down under have taken it down there. I use it. I bought the Motorsportz one from Kelly as well, and my body is using it. Last one is more heavy, but wil not crack in a lifetime! Anything alu. will do, and the std.... is just a joke. It will crack on every occasion. I used 3 on 3 days, and cracked the oil filter cover becasuse of this. Thought it was low temperature, but it is in fact any temperature!

These are awsome and have a bottom end venting system, hyde racing.
