• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help needed with a 1981 420 AXC.

It looks like they put the additional hole on the swing arm to lower the bike to match the forks which appear to be 9" forks from a WR, this would cause the frame tube being mentioned to appear more vertical than on the standard setting..The bike does not have the boss for the chain roller right above the swing arm pivot like an '83-'84 though, we really need to see pictures of the frame without side covers, seat and tank on it.

the steering head also has no gussets on the sides like an 83-84. looks weird? did the earlier frames look that way?

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'd really like to see some pictures of the frame with the seat, side panels and the tank taken off.

There is a black hose under the tank above the reed block seems to be hangin there but may have been a temporary fix placed under the tank to stop it rattling.the left side looks to have a tube going from the reed block to the carb but thats just the kicker tip which almost appears to be swivel type.frame missing gusset.side panels similar to pro circuit but could be from a non husky.

If any of y’all are still around currently own that motorcycle came to me with the broken Kickstarter shaft which I have replaced now I can’t seem to get it to start. I guess I don’t have enough ass. I’m actually looking for. How do you pull start one of these it’s evidently been sitting for a while.
