• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Many of you know that NJ is still a center of off-road events on the east coast.....WE ARE UNDER ATTACK AND OUR ENDURO EVENTS MAY BE HISTORY.

Please make a phone call for us.

10 Seconds!

Well, okay maybe more than 10 seconds...but this is well worth your time!!

If you would like to continue riding trail for enduros (and dual sports) in NJ state forests, we need some of your time NOW.

As educated as our adversaries profess, the more uneducated and misinformed we find them out to be!

Due to recent attacks by the Pinelands Preservation Alliance and now the Audubon Society, we ask you at this time to please take ten seconds and call the NJ DEP Commissioner's (Bob Martin) Office at (609) 292-2885 and share some FACTS on the subject. These organizations want everyone to support the new "plan" that bans enduros from using any single track trail in the state forest.

Call Bob Martin now and tell him that you are against this plan and then ask why we have to beg to ride trail and enjoy our scenic views. As a citizen of the United States, these lands and trails belong to you. These properties are paid for with Green Acre funds, Federal Recreational Trail funds, and NJ state tax paying ECEA club members/riders, on top of the thousands of dollars paid and guidelines already followed to put on a safe and environmentally responsible events.

Call no matter what state you live in - (609) 292-2885
Do it now because they are counting the responses to this issue.

We must remain strong with our phone efforts!!! YOU can do this and when it comes down to it, you MUST do it.

Next, take a minute to download a letter to Mr. Martin - here's a link...

Fast and Easy! Now forward this email to fellow club members, friends, and family members...

Thank you!

I called and a nice lady took my name and phone number and noted my oposition.

My wife called too and they had a nice conversation about the issue.

This is important.

If you have friends that ride let them know...we have to melt the phone lines!

Thanks!

As a ECEA member and fellow rider in the state forests here in New Jersey, I'm totally with you on this issue. We are under attack and we need to fight back. My brother's club OCCR was told they will not be issued a permit for the Scrub Pine Enduro for unknown reasons. This is total BS and unacceptable to me. I made a post a few months ago Jersey Riders Beware and I addressed this issue too. I am totally pissed that we tax paying New Jersey residents are being denied a basic right to use lands we pay for. I'm on my way to work right now, but I will call this dude this morning with out a doubt.

I had females call. The lady as like yeah...whatever when i called but when "you know who" called it was like old home week. Just sayin"
We told them "Richie-tires' told us to call

Any chance I could move this from 2st to General (Main) so this issue gets more attention? Cause I think it is quite important.

Maybe copy it everywhere.

We can use all the help we can get.

Yes, have ladies call too.

You don't have to be from NJ.

Tell them you travel to NJ ride Enduros

Thanks Coffee for helping us. I called today and made it perfectly clear this is unacceptable to us. I'm going to get my co-workers to help me out.

Living in NJ I called. The woman would not answer any of my questions and would simply say someone will call me Monday. I told her I plan on calling all my local government representatives if I do not get a response.

They are pathetic here in New Jersey to say the least when they plan on doing things. Did these people really think that they would not get bombarded with calls or letters ?

And if the ECEA site was really hacked I just wonder who would do such a thing ? Ohhh there are a few suspects I'd consider.

Having lived in Jersey for many years and remember the good old days, even into the early 2000's, I feel for you guys. Many people fail to realise that it was/is enduro clubs that cut trails and does clean ups, etc. It is an uphill battle and the North Jersey people and mentality has killed Central and South Jersey. Keep up the fight guys.

^^^ add to that, majority of the anti dirt bike people are the same that live in McMansions via clear cutting with huge carbon footprints and drive big SUVs that guzzle precious petrol speeding down the parkway or turnpike... they are concerned about the environmental damage of DB riding.

I think a big part of it is just like everything else, they basically fear something they know little about. It's like guns, people don't know much of them except the news, it isn't gun owners against guns. The whole pot thing in CO, my opinion could probably be swayed but the only people I see fighting for it are shitheads.

To really fight this we need to get people to notice how we give back. Actually doing the work means nothing, we need to change public perception. The only way I can think of this is to get newsletters out to people's homes. Write out everything that is going on in your local motorcycle scene. Are you raising money for charities? Cleaning up riding areas and better yet, none riding areas? Are you restructuring the trail systems? What is in place to make it safer? Also, if you are part of these organization simply leave the newsletters at places like your Dr's office in the magazine rack or the break room at work.

BTW, you don't have to live in NJ to help out.

Just call the Lady and tell her you travel to NJ to ride the enduros and you are not happy at all with what is happening.

What is happening is the Enviro's have taken control of the Parks Dept and politicians with political donations.

They were politically organized and we were not....that is changing.

Pls call....it is easy....they are taking numbers of those for the Enduro ban and those opposed.

Be polite...just tell her you appose the plan!

Today is the big push.....have your kids/wife/friends call.

Thanks!

Thanks Rich
