• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Somebody saved you some work and put 40mm forks on it. Great bikes you will enjoy it. I had a 80 OR390 and miss it.

Looks like you have the same shocks as are fitted to my OR. They are Works Performance Magna shocks I have been told. Do they seem ok, or will they need servicing?

not sure of direction

looking to do full resto job, dont know if i should do crank case seals anyway and piston and rings as a matter of caution ? no not leaking but one spring is snapped and someone has hacked the fins just below exhaust, shame as they shere probally good in there day.

If you decide to split the cases, I believe it is vital you use the correct tool for the job.

Is that the bike that was on ebay a week or two ago?

I am chaniging the forks on mine, so I will have a pair of 35 mm forks if you want to restore it to it's original state, but they need one replacement lower leg because of a crack. They will be cheap so let me know if you are interested.

yep

was on ebay as non runner,i missed it and the winner didnt collect so i took a chance on her, think im going to keep forks as they are and just buil a sort of trick or 390,as no one keeps motorcross bikes standard anway.

Looks like you got a good deal. Mine was cheaper but is missing the tank and seat, plus no way is mine a runner.

Fair enough on the forks, the 40mm forks are definitely better. I am putting YZ forks on mine simply because I have a pair in the garage and I am doing mine up on a tight budget.

Good luck with your new bike.

shocks

any ideas on good replacement shocks guys,if these ar works peformance shocks they cost a mint

Patgas, I have spoken to Robin Packham at Falcon Shocks and he is able to service them. Not sure yet how much, but should be cheaper than new shocks and I think they look good on the bike personally.

keep me informed

sounds good yes they look good and are very expensive to replace, only problem is some one has ground away fins at top to clear i think exhaust, and one spring is broken, would be good if i could do something with the fins to make it look like it should be,either that or they where off something else i will try get some pics posted.if you decide to dich yours murph if there is one decent one i will take them of your hands, mine are actually not leaking just snapped spring.spoken to falcon dont think these shocks are worth rebuilding, going to try and source some ohlins i think any one know good source ?
