• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey! Move Over, Will Ya?

Great looking bike WoodsChick. A little jealous to say the least.

Once you ride it around a bit you're going to have to do a ride report for us all.

Heck Woodsie I missed this new purchase. Congratulations. Please do a full ride report when you can, I always look forward to your ride reports. Especially keen to hear how the 650 goes on those trips you and Eric do. My main concern is limited suspension travel, limited suspension adjustment and would love input on any changes you make, esp around tyres.
I am looking at the TR 650, a left over 630 and a KTM 690 (wash my mouth out). Still doing my regular TE310 bush thing and love being a real dill on my Multistrada. Howwver its the DS bit in the middle I need to get cracking on. Already eliminated the big Katos, and BMW's, the KLR etc are just too old. it seems there is limited scope in the single cylinder department. I think the Yammy 660 Tenere is ok but its heavy and very pricey here.
Cheers and regards
Glenn.

Woodschick and her husband picking up her new Husky at MotoXotica, as you can tell by her garage she is a VERY good customer of ours!

Hey Woodchick, which Revit gear is that you are wearing?

Just picked up an AirwaveJacket yesterday for summer over here, maybe pick up a new Terra in a couple of months.

Hey, ghte! Sorry for the delayed response. I can't seem to keep up anymore!
As far as limited suspension travel goes, this TR650 is replacing my SV650 so I'm winning in that department :D
It's a little tall for me yet, and after over 1000 really bumpy and harsh miles, I only managed to get an extra 1/4" of sag out of the beast :(
I definitely need new springs front and rear, it's pretty harsh for my massive 123lb self. In spite of that, I'm having a lot of fun on this bike.
I think it's going to suit my needs nicely. I can continue to pile up the stupid miles on my beloved 610 while Eric's on his 950, and I'm still limited in where I can go because of that 950, but with this TR650 we're pretty much on evenly matched machines and it's a mile-eater. I think it's going to be a lot of fun!

Hey, Xch! My RevIt gear is the full mesh Tornado. I love it...it fits me really nicely even though the "short" pants are still a tad too long but nothing I can do about that. My next purchase will probably be the Ventura jacket and maybe the pants. They're the ones most like the Sand jacket for men. Good stuff!
