• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

horsepower ratings

They are just numbers on a paper ... same as the weight ... Just a number to help sell a bike ... and yep, if the numbers are down too much, U might notice .... Are you pinning UR bike corner to corner? If not, U have too many ponies ...

Are they not on the MSO (manufactures statement of orgin) The document from the manufacture that is used to title, register and plate your bike.

So - update...
Did a preliminary dyno run (TC 450 engine, 13.1 FBF piston, 1.1mm head gasket, Leo Vince Ti exhaust) on a Factory Pro EC997 dyno - uncorrected at 42.8 rear wheel HP / 33 lbs torque. Usuable range of 7000-9500 rpm.
HP at 7000 = 38.9HP -----> max at 8500 ----> 40.2HP at 9500. Then bike died as stator burnt out as we were about to set up needle position.
Add an additional 15-20% for Dynojet rating.

Mechanic was really impressed as his personal bulit up CRF450 put out 46.8 last season. (He put lots of exotic parts into his Honda, which blew up after 5 races lol)

My friends Husa 550 (SuperMotard) graph showed about 44-45, but power and torque curve came lower. Lets see how long she lasts, and then ill put the 530RR in with a bored FCR 42.5mm :)

kinda curious as to why you hardly see the power ratings on dirtbikes? Im sure they are all similar per displacement ect but still kinda crazy why they wouldnt especially if yours is puttin out 5hp more than the next guys.........
This thread seems a bit more suited to the General forum, can I move it or did you want it in the Diner for a specific reason?
