• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How about a work shop maunal

I took my CD rom to staples and they printed it out and bound one together for me.. Way better then scrolling thru a disc and laptop usage..

I understand the OP's frustration. Try and find the shop manual for an '09 WR125. And even looking at the '08 manual it is a giant step down from the Japanese bike manuals in ease of use. But since that is my only gripe about my Husky I think I can live with it!

This is one of my major gripes with Husky also. I hesitate to even recomend the brand to someone now to wrenching because of it. And then to make it worse they took the torque settings out of the newer manuals. For a more experienced mechanic and/or someone who uses the internet a lot it is not such a big deal but still it would be nice if Husky put just a little effort into producing a manual.

+1 on this. I also found that the printed owners manual for the 511 doesnt include the suspension adjustments ... though they are on the flash drive. Seeing as suspension setup is done in the field I guess Im supposed to transfer them to my iPhone? prefer paper when riding.... Yes I can print it, but I didnt know I needed to until it was too late.

For comparison I was mildly shocked at how thorough my CRF450X manual was a few years ago.... Honda has certainly ugraded their game in this regard and I hope Husky does the same.

Not a fatal flaw, just an annoyance.

Too bad Husqvarna lacks in this area.

KTM supplies a GREAT service manual with all there bikes....everything you need, suspension setting, carb settings, torque specs....the works.

My old KTM book had everything you could want. I was very surprised when my 2011 Husky flash drive/manual had nothing. Local dealer was no help. It's a real over sight on their part.

I got a digital copy of every manual I'll ever need from my dealer. All I had to do was ask.

My only gripe is that it's hard to find info in them, like torque values. Also, their translation to English is terrible. They convert EVERY measurement in the books to U.S. units. So, even your 8mm wrench becomes a 0.315 in wrench. :D

All,

The manual is available to all US dealers via the dealer portal (as all manuals back to 2003 are). If you are a dealer and cannot find the needed manual, please contact me and I will posted it at my first available convenience.

Customers,

If you're dealer does not have a copy of the manual, then please ask them to check under the "downlads > manuals" section of the dealer portal. They can burn this file to a disk or flash drive as the files are too large to send via email.

To the OP,

I apologize that you're having problems obtaining the needed information, and wish I could be more of a help. I will say that most Aus. Dealers have access to the dealer area of the world website where this same information can be found; that said, they should have access to this information via that connection.

Regards.

Guy's I have owned 4 husky's so far, now i owned a WR300 2010 model. This is by far the worst model i have owned.. not due to failure, but to lack of support.. This bike is suppose to be the pointy end of the stick.. cmon fellas i can better service from a Honda manual.. The supplied manual is nothing but junk.. Even the guy who are supposed to work in my bike do not have a work shop manual... what's with that.. I don't mind buying one even...But not to have one...thats a joke.. I can now see why all my mates laugh at my decision to buy husky still. The KTM manual is nothing short of amazing.. it offers the rider every bit of info thats is required. I now know why they do so well in comp.. Knowledge is power

BY FAR THE WORST MODEL????
Very poor choice of words.
i posted all the data need on the second page before i read this.
Ps check out how Husky is kicking every body's butt in out door mx and enduro e1,e3.
Husky is a power house on and off the track!

We out power the new ktm 350 with our 125 at the outdoor provincials always putting Husky in first!
The 300 is a monster! which i know you cant deny (check your motor mounts)
keep the comments fair.

he has a point ,someone said something about a complete service manual on cd rom were do you get these?as a happy husky ower i would love the same, or at least some of the benfits as a ktm onwer, ie parts ,apperal and service.husky builds a great product but falls short after the sale of the bike im not unhappy but i would spend on apperal and parts if i could without a huge serch and hasel..i also knew this buying a exoctic .....

This thread has gone from a very specific issue about not being able to order a manual, to a more general discussion. I'll move it over to the Main forum, seems like a better fit.

For the record, there is an issue, which I have discussed - the dealer needs to know the part number to order the manual, they cannot look up the manual via the model / year of the bike. At least that is what I recall the issue being. Things could have changed by now, or the dealer I talked to may not have the correct information.
