• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How are our Aussi friends doing?

Hope it ends soon.

Hang in there & stay safe. Don't take any needless chances.

RIP to those who are gone.

Brisbane is a bit of a mess as youve seen . The Valley below Toowoomba was worse hit .

The Brisbane fllooding is something that shouldnt happen but history has shown it will repeat .
Part of the problem is the Dam they built in the 70's after the last big flood was over 150% from a wet December and up to 190 % so they released a lot of water to stop it from over flowing . Its easy to say in hindsight but in 2009 and 2010 Brisbane council enforced strong water restrictions and the Dam level kept going up and up . So it had to be released at the worse possible time.
I think there will be questions asked.
Its amaizing to see the people getting in and helping strangers in need and it will bring the community together.

aint been around the tube of late and just saw some pics and my freakin gawd! wow.

thoughts and prayers for a brothers and sisters down unduh.

My Aust distributor sent me pix of their local town. Man that sucks. Thinking good thoughts for you guys.

This what happens in our country in times of need. Keep in mind this video contains offensive language

He is a classic and he is right it is f.... disgusting
On the whole though people have been really good with tens of thousands of volunteers going in from other parts of Brisbane and other areas to help clean up the mud and rip out the damaged materials
Toowoomba Bikes and bits are a Husky dealer - but I think they were far enough away from the creek that flooded up there

I prefer to think about the 55000 fantastic volunteers who came in with mops and brooms and buckets and just went to town on the mess in strangers homes. Please bear in mind they all registered and that was the capacity that could be managed. Thousands were asked to come back later. Good on you Queenslanders and please get that great stadiun (Suncorp) ready so us New South Welshmen can add to your woes in the Origin

Hi Kelly, we are still recovering, including some of our post offices, but thankfully your headlight for the TE510 got through to me. I have some helmet cam of a ride out west to the Brisbane River catchment dam to find my grandma who lives 100 metres from the river bank and 500 metres from the damn outlet. I was stopped by the swollen river 5km from her house, so I turned around and rode around the dam (450km ride). She was fine but isolated and relying on food drops. She complained about the noise of the water outlet more than the fact that she only had a pumpkin to eat. There was no fuel for 100km and my bike (VTR1000F) has a range of 220km. On the way home at night, conserving fuel sitting at about 120kph and thinking I am safe given no traffic on the road at all, I hit a bridge covered in mud at 100kph, which was quite a holy-crap moment.

I work in West End, which was hit quite badly. Our office building only recently reopened, but it's all still very messy.

Fraser Coast here, the mary river got to within 300 yards of our house, not much really but in perspective, its close to the highest its been recorded at. My Olds and Sis live 35klm behind the township of Tully, or rather whats left of it. They have no lawn anymore, the trees are shattered stumps as far as they can see. Old man says the chainsaw will need new barrel/pistons rings when they finish the clean up..lol. I havent had a chance to get out on the Husky of late as work is getting in my way, although in the hieght of this, I couldnt go more than 15 klm any direction anyway. Victoria has now got Qlds sewerage all about them lol... as all water must go downhill eventually. NSW didnt get too much as not even the water is interested in being there, Suncorp is ready.. bring ya Tissues Boys :D Is there a 6 peat on the way.?
