  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How are the 2010 TXC 250's holding up?

Hi all,

I come in here and check up on things and after seeing a couple 10 TXC250s on Sunday there on my brain again. So thought I would see how everyone is enjoying them and if they have all the EFI and minor hicups worked out?

I almost had a chance to ride a stock 2010 250 and Raiserx modified TXC250 on Sunday but was tired and ran out of time. So I'll do that at our next fun ride to check them out. It's a cool looking bike and from what I hear they handle great and the suspension isn't to bad either.

Do they offer the big tank yet and also will there be a BB kit for the 10 250?

Any major changes for 2011 that would be worth buying it over a leftover 10 TXC250?

Thanks for your time.

2010 TXC250. Other than a temp sensor going bad at about 1100 miles solid as a rock. Oh, front engine mounts came loose once. Been a real solid bike. Oil comes out cleaner than any bike i have had, dunno what thats about. Nearly impossible to overheat. Valve have not moved. No issues with hydro clutch like on the las models. So far very impressed.

Waiting to get my ECU flashed which I hear great things about. As is I live with a slight hesitation off the bottom I don't notice much any more. One of the best handling 250F I have tried. Husky planted and nimble which obviously work for me. 3 gallon tank is about a month out. No info on the 2011 as far as i know.

Only have about 35 hrs and 250 miles on mine so far but has been a solid ride. Just had suspension gone through by LTR and OMG what a difference! Suspension wasn't too bad to begin with but after it's been sprung for correct rider's weight and style it is just a bump sponge. I've got the hesitation off of idle as well but have adapted to it. Reflash will be most welcome.

Thanks for the replies guys. Sometime in the near future I should get a chance to put a leg over a stock TXC250 and also one that has the Leo Vince slip on exhaust, ecu tune and LTR suspension. So should be a good comparison. Plus I'm thinking with the 2011 coming out I know the dealer friend I ride with will be discounting his 10's soon.

Might pick one up in the next couple of months, have to see. Really want to see how the handling is on the Husky's. I've read a lot of good things about them here.

If you want to get the most out of it and don't mind spending a few extra bucks, put on the new Power Commander and an Auto Tune hen set it up with a HGS or Akrapovic exhaust....Wicked, VERY similar to the TC!!!
