• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Way back in 07 when I first decided to purchased a new 08 TE510 all was well up here in Canada. The Husqvarna dealership was 15 mins away.
Then the bottom fell out for Canada when BMW took over.
My dealer was having great difficulty acquiring any 08's and the only one I found in Canada was 4125 km away @ Rocher Sales back in Ontario. A little truck ride in a box and the rest is history.
Did the same for my 125.

My is 10 minutes from the house, close enough to rip on over on the Zuma. They've got a cushy couch we kick back on called 'The Couch of Knowledge'. Cool shop where you just go to hang out... like the old days...:p The only 'bad' thing is you can always find something you need to buy!

The dealer I bought my 610 from is 330 miles away. They are mainly a Victory dealer. Not much for Husky parts or bikes, less this year. They did give a good price and were helpfull when the speedometer died. Honda, Kawasaki dealer 2 minute away.

Bought my 08 610 from an individual (900 mile round trip), closest dealer is in Atlanta Ga. 4 1/2 hrs away. I called the BMW dealership in Birmingham to see if they were going to pick-up Husky and they said not no, but H#$% No.
I think its because they already carry KTM.

I voted "30-60 minutes" (Upstate Cycle, Greenville, SC) before I read the 'instructions', but I drove to Temecula, CA to pick up my "used" Husky (8 miles on it!) on a too good to pass up deal. It was just over 5000 miles round trip, but I got to ride in CA for two days before bringing it home, so it was worth every penny. :)

Well...OK... I guess I'll assume the role of "Mr. Obvious" and state my opinion that WAY too many Husky owners are WAY too far away from their dealer! WAKE UP BMW! Time for more dealers!

I'm somewhat new to Cafe Husky and so glad it's here. I live about 4 hours away from my closest dealer (Florida), which makes it very hard to drop in to see the new bikes, purchase parts, and of course develop a relationship with everyone at the dealership.

It will go a long way in my decision in purchasing a new bike. I''d like a Husky, but I have a KTM dealer just 1 1/2 hours away. I'm hoping Husqvarna is looking to get into my area soon.

I'd like to get a 2010 Husqvarna brochure and Parts Catalog (since I can't drop in a view them at the shop). Any ideas wre to best get them sent to me? I've had very little with my closest dealer.

Thanks,

Keith

http://www.bmwmcoa.com/ BMW of Atlanta Husky, BMW and Ducati dealer. Bobby is an employee and active poster on Husky boards.

http://www.halls-cycles.com/ Long-time Husky dealer and a general favorite for online ordering. They have the parts catalog online and you should be able to get a brochure online from Husky USA. http://www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/_vti_g5_0.aspx?rpstry=187_

One is closer to you, in fact you might think about stopping by the Atlanta store some time just to be in a good dealership

Hi Keith!

The 2010 bike brochures are not completed yet as far as I know, there was an initial version but was told that was not the final version so even if you drove to a dealership they would not have those.

Here is a link to 2 catalogs online that you can download with an accurate explanation of the state of affairs at this time, there is a paper version of the hard parts catalog but it needs to be ordered through a dealer - not sure what the part number is.

Thanks guys for the quick response and information. I've seen the catalogs on the Husqvarna site and while they're very useful and good to look at, I prefer one I can get my hands on to drool over when I'm wasting time in front of the TV. I'll contact a dealer to get the part number and order my own. I didn't know that was something I could do. Thanks again for the tip.

This site, and eveyone here seems great. I'm so glad I found it.

I'm in South Florida, so I don't get to Atlanta often, but the next time I'm there I'll check out the Husky dealer.

Thanks again!

Keith
