• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

How Many Huskys Are Enough?

Awesome find on that beautiful TE 610! Can't wait for your future rr pics with nothing but 610's and WR's. :thumbsup: I don't know if four Husky's is even really enough. I would love to add a x-lite TE 310 to my stable. I realize I better just stay away from the NUDA though, the 630 goes as fast as I need to go (anymore) on the blacktop. :oldman:

Yeah, I know what you mean about going fast on pavement. I've always said I'd never own another sportbike again, but that Nuda is moving me like no other for some reason. It doesn't help that Eric and I were talking about how fun it would be to have a big bike for the both of us to go camping on ("think of all the money we'll save by putting gas in only one bike, honey!" I said to justify the 5-figure expense of a new machine :lol:) I need a new car, my 1987 MR2 with 190k trouble-free miles will not go into gear anymore and I don't want to spend $1000 on a new clutch only to find it won't pass smog next year. I want a new Rubicon, but told Eric we could save money and buy 2 new Tiger 800 XC's instead! That's kinda like 4-wheel-drive...right? Needless to say he didn't go for it...:(
 
Come on now, we all know you can never have too many****************************************!!! That is a beautiful bike!! What an awesome find, That's one of those deals where you have to get it whether you need or not. What are the little issues???? Looks like it might be low on gas????

A rogue washer chewed up the stator. It's been replaced, but about a quarter of the washer was never found. Sounds like the valves might be touching the piston...maybe that missing piece of washer got in under the cam chain and altered the timing or something? I don't know...regardless of what it is, it can probably be fixed without too much effort. Hell, even if it costs $1000 to fix whatever's wrong Eric still got exactly what he wanted, a great deal on a blue and yellow `06 TE610 with hardly any miles on it :thumbsup:
 
The original owner didn't fix it under warranty? So now at least the top end has to come apart?..... I hope it's not too serious.... but it will be fun getting it feeling better and back out on the trail. Keep us posted, I can't wait to find out what happened......

The original owner didn't own it when it happened. It happened years later while the 2nd owner had it.
This bike sat for a long time and never got ridden. That's gonna change in the next month or two :)

I, too, can't wait to find out what's going on in there :popcorn:
 
Never enough! Just as long as you don't start putting old dirt bike wheels out to keep the rabbits out of your garden, use old silencers as wind chimes, and fuel tank flower pots! Then we will be concerned!

:lol: That's pretty funny! Fortunately...or unfortunately as the case may be...Eric understands my need for a garageful of bikes and doesn't try to deter me. He did say "no more!" after the last 3 bikes I bought but in that time he's bought 3 bikes himself :busted: We're bad for each other, as we're both enablers :D

Lucky you, my wife keeps even with Benzes and motorhomes....which she does let me drive.

:thumbsup: on a Rubicon. I bought a new Rubicon last year--5th Wrangler I've had. I love my bikes, but if I couldn't have both the Jeep and the bikes, I'd keep the Jeep. I took it to Moab in October, and it was so much fun running Fins n' Things.

Nice find on that 610. I really like the color scheme. Pretty lucky to find one of the carbed 610's with so few miles. I've got my eye on the new TE250 low. Problem is I'd have to sell either my 610 or KLX. Tough call there. I love my 610, and I just setup my KLX with a big bore and oversize tank. I checked out the TE last week on my way to Oregon. That only made me want it more. :o

Will be looking forward to your ride reports with Eric on the new bike...
