    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hi Guys,

Just wondering what a good price would be to sell my Husky. I have a transfer and the price to ship the bike its close to half the bike cost.

After market parts (approx. prices):

- Twisted Throttle skid plate - $350
- Touratech headlight guard - $120
- Touratech windshield - $180
- brmoto side racks - $300
- Acerbis hand guards - $100
- AltRider crash bars - $350
- Tail tidy - $160
- Red & black plastics (no scratches) - $100
- TKC 80 tires - $300 (brand new)
- First service just completed
- Approx. 2000km
Close to 2k in aftermarket parts...

Do you think i could get 10k?
 
No...
Even with all the extra's you'll lucky if you see $6 G's
Better off putting it back to the OEM state, selling all the extra say on here and just selling the bike stock.

Here in Portland, the market is dead. I've listed both my Terra and Strada for sale several times over the last three months. I've gotten one inquiry, and that was for a trade for a truck with a blue book of about $2k. :-) I'm waiting for March, I figure doing anything now will just be a beating.

I've had my Strada with K60s and a high fender as low as $5199.

I've had my nicely equipped Terra as low as $5999, including:

• BR Moto Top Rack
• SW Motech Skid Plate
• SW Motech Crash Bars

Ummm...even at full retail for the bike and prices you claim on the add-ons only comes up to less than $8500. So why would somebody pay $1500 more for a used bike than a brand new bike with all the parts? So, no...I don't think you can get $10K. I don't think the market will bare that price. :)

I think you can get closer to what KBB.com suggest for a Terra in excellent condition...$5300. You *may* be able to get a bit more with some of the add-ons (you're not going to get anything more because you replaced the tires or did scheduled services), but probably better off to remove the easy-to-remove items (e.g. the skid plate) and sell them separately for 60-75% of retail.

Agreed. Strip it back to stock and put the parts up for sale seperatly. If you do go this route...I would be interested in a few of your parts (BR stuff, headlight gaurd, and possibly the tail tidy.
 
I've shipped several bikes in my household goods before. Most moving companies will do that. Just drain the fluids, and they crate it up for you.

If you ship it alone as a vehicle, then you'll pay a hefty price. But shipping it alongside your couch and armoir won't cost you much at all. In my case, as long as I keep it under 12k pounds when I move, it is free.

Yup, I have had bikes shipped with my household stuff too.
Shoot in my younger day’s one move had about 5 feet of household and the rest of the truck was full of 2 bikes, a boat, a jet ski and a Subaru brat.
No crate, they just wrapped the crap out of them with shipping blankets and straps.
No draining of fluids either as I remember.
That was a few years ago, so perhaps you need to do more now.

The Subaru did get a little rub damage from moving on its suspension, the bikes have always fared well.

I recall a weight limit too, but I was not even close as the vehicles weighed less than most household stuff of the same volume.

I agree. Accessories are worth more off the bike than on it. If I were selling, I'd price the accessories individually at 70% of their original cost. I would leave the accessories on the bike and just list the selling price of the bike and the accessories separately, and give the person who buys the bike first offer on buying the farkles. What ever they don't want you remove prior to delivering the bike to them and sell separately somewhere like here or advrider, where you will find buyers.
 
Just to be clear, he is in Canada so $10k is $9566.63 US....but in general the comments are on mark IMHO.

krussell, what you need to do is trade someone local for a nice off road Husqvarna or two. :D Like an almost new WR250....

I paid the full price at 8k at a bike show, hence the 10K... bummer ow well I will just have to look at shipping. Never buy new is my new motto :)
 
Agreed, i will looking at selling items seperatly... or just ship the bike as I would end up buying it all again anyway :)

New vehicles lose value when you roll them off the showroom floor. That's not new wisdom. I would have thought everyone buying a TR650 would have known what they were getting into when buying a v1.0 model (except for the bmw selling husqvarna stuff).
 
Get a couple or more quotes on shipping. if your moving out of country, maybe see if you can use a shipping broker out of Seattle, but make sure they include logistics. I think Bill(BMP) was saying he was shipping bike cross country for $400.00. For half the cost of the bike you could air freight it over seas.
 
A dealer selling a brand new model will not get $10k cdn, why would a used? I'm considering selling mine and will be happy to get $5-5.5k usd.
